Typical story begins the typical way: my child, watching the many t.v. commercials targeting kids, saw the "Floam" ad and just HAD to have it. Now, we don't spoil her by getting her everything she wants, but since her birthday was coming up and this was something she really, really wanted, I went ahead and ordered it. I even paid an extra LARGE fee to have the order expedited so it would get here by her birthday. Well, the birthday rolled around, still no Floam. I called the company, they said that the extra fee I paid was not to have the order SHIPPED in the next few days, just to have it expedited in the office. That was my first complaint - this was a little misleading as it did seem to indicate shipment would occur sooner.

NOW THE BIG COMPLAINT: This Floam is horrible! When it finally arrived, after thiry-something dollars I paid, I got four tubs of the stuff (I've since seen it at Hobby Lobby for six-something dollars a tub). After mixing it up with a spoon, my 7-year-old dove in - UGH! This was the most disgusting, messy stuff I've ever seen. It was all over her hands, stuck like pink slime with little balls of styrofoam...she tried to do some things with it, but ended up getting frustrated (after opening the green, blue and yellow and smearing it all over the table). She ended up washing her hands off in the sink. Well, the Floam got clogged up in the sink. I later poured some Drain-O in the sink, and a nasty cloud of noxious gas hissed up at me, as the Drain-O chemically combusted with the Floam. I rushed out of the room and slammed the door until the poisonous (I'm assuming poisonous) cloud cleared. The Drain-O finally did the job, but who knows what kind of dangerous gas this stuff created! I've since put the Floam into a bag, placed it up on our refrigerator, and I pray my daughter forgets about the whole messy thing. Our dog got very ill that same day, and I'm wondering if he may have woofed down a lump of Floam from the mess on the floor (he's since recovered).

STICK WITH PLAY-DOUGH, PARENTS! If your kid MUST try some Floam, buy ONE tub at Wal-Mart or wherever they sell it and pray the kid gets it out of his/her system and you can avoid a Floam debacle like the one I experienced. PARENTS OF THE WORLD, UNITE AGAINST FLOAM! (and don't mix it with Drain-O)
