If you have recently googled your name and found your mugshot posted by these c***s, and are considering paying them please READ THE FOLLOWING VERY CAREFULLY. Your mugshot will likely not be removed, if it is it will be removed for only a cpouple of weeks and YOUR WILL BE IDENTIFIED AND TARGETED AS A PAYER! You will be harassed for the REST OF YOUER LIFE. Thre's is no exageration in this.

Just try it and pay them. in six months your images will be blasted alkl over the internt on multiple websites, they will find out where you work and send your arrest info to your co-workers to try to get more money out of you. They will send the information to your family, your children, your childrens school These f***ing people know what they are doing and how to make money. They know if you pay once you will alwasy pay. .

can not find any success stores on how googles search algorithm changes back in October made peoples lives better. The mugshot companies have obviously found a way around it. For me personally my mugshot picture ranks higher, and also I have invested more and more of my time trying to fill the web with more pictures of myself to beat the mugshot ranking? Nothing is working… I have set up G+ accounts, Flickr, youtube, facebook, pintrist, and purchased two URLS. Nothing I do pushes this mugshot crap down the list.

GOOGLE STOP TRYING TO RUN A TABLOID AND FIX YOUR BUSINESS MODEL!!!!!!! STOP ENABELING CRIMINALS!!! GROW UP!!!

Why hasn't someone just killed some of these people yet, these domain owners of these mugshot sites, to make an example out of them? That could possibly be effective.

These pathetic sites are now just targeting those that have already paid them to have it removed by making their photos more exclusive on the internet. It makes perfect sense as a criminal business model. If your mugshot is posted on the internet DO NOT PAY PAY PEOPLE TO REMOVE IT! IT WILL ONLY MAKE THINGS WORSE! Contact an attorney, CHANGE YOUR NAME, write your state legislators, write google, write here.

Just do not let ANY mugshot website or reputation management company know your name and that you are upset about the content being on there. If you do they will expose your photographs and personal information even more and then charge you more to remove it. They will then sell the knowledge they have (that you are a ‘payer’) to someone else and your left now with your life in ruins.

GOOGLE AND THE HOSTING COMPANIES ARE THE ONLY ONEs THAT CAN REMOVE CONTENT OR LIMIT CONTENT IN THEIR SEARCH ENGINE. DO NOT PAY THE MUGSHOT COMPANIES THEY WILL ONLY MAKE YOUR LIFE WORSE!

GOOGLE WHEN WILL YOU BE SUED!?!?!?! YOU SHOULD BE!?!?!? FIX THE SITUATION BEFORE THAT HAPPENS!

GoDADDY.COM! STOP SELLING DOMAIN NAMES WITH MUGSHOT OR ARREST IN IT!!! STOP SUPPORTING THESE CRIMINALS

Google & GoDaddy are probably in on the scam. The NYT estimates this mugshot bulls*** at close to a billion dollar industry in 2012. The way I look at it is, google search is the means by which these sites commit their crimes. As long as google allows their behavior, they are criminal themselves.

Here's one website in particular:

www.florida-mugshot-locator.com

Does anyone know who owns this domain?

It's stupid for these lawyers that are actively suing the mugshot companies to think that it's going to make a difference. I applaud your efforts but it's not going to matter. There will always be some criminal that cares even less than the ones currently doing it, and will make these websites despite a new law preventing it.

going after google is the only thing that is going to make a difference. Any opinions???? Suggestions?????

I am in the same boat, but have not paid them. Check the Back of your check.  What does the back of the check or your electronic deduction say?

It had to be deposited somewhere.  If they are not traceable, perhaps their bank account is. In Georgia, House Bill 845 gives some real prosecution teeth against these kinds of operations.
