I listed a laptop on E Bay with a "buy it now" price. A newly registered buyer giving "Nigera" as his address "bought it" at the buy it now price, thus closing the auction. The buyer was obviously one of the many scam artists E Bay seems to allow on their site. . It obviously was not a sale, as I received the usual "you'll get a money order in excess of the sale, wire the excess by Western Union to....etc". . I complained to E bay about their loose (non existant?)qualifying of participants. The reply from E bay made me livid! They said "reject bids you don't like". WRONG! It's impossible to reject a bid that closes the auction. They also said "dont deal with unregistered buyers".WRONG! The d**n buyer WAS "registered" at the TIME of the faux "sale". E bay did their best to place the blame on me. With their format, there was NOTHING I could have done to avoid this "sale" debacle that ultimately cost me money! All I could recover from E bay was the "final value" (sale) fee. . I submitted to E bay they are in a unique position. A seller loses money: E bay makes money. A seller makes money, E bay makes money. . A Nigerian "buyer". Yeah, sure, E bay! That sure sounds like a fine address for a real swell buyer, eh? Thanks for allowing him access to your site. E bay made money, what else could be important? . Sadly, E bay is the "only act in town", there's not another similar or equal entity. Overall, I enjoy buying and selling on E bay. I'd enjoy it a whole more if participants were actually screened ensuring their legitimacy.

About a year ago, I had someone access my ebay account and sell something under my name. Fortunately, I caught it early enough so that no one bought the fraudulent item..unfortunately, ebay decided to punish me by cancelling my account, claiming I was responsible for protecting my account!!! These actions screw over sellers too, in the way of fraudulent sellers fees and etc. Don't expect help from ebay, it just wont happen.

This same scan just got me two days ago,but these people claimed to be affliated with SquareTrade and it turned out that they stole their logo and information too. Supposedly this SquareTrade company had $10000 deposited into an account to protect from fraud and I would receive this money if the product never showed up. Ebay was told by the person that the fraudulent seller stole the item description and the photo from that this was a scam and they allowed the item to stay. I am very unhappy with ebay and they won't return any of my emails. Item number 2282668938 email address [email protected] First Name: Luisa Last Name: Marfa Street: Viale Lucania 5 City: Milan Zip code: 20139 Country: Italy I know I will never get my money back I just want other people to be aware of what's going on
