In the fall of 2019 we bought my daughter some items for her art class from an Etsy seller called FossilFueledFX. We recalled that the rep from the Etsy seller was very kind and helpful in assisting with my daughters project. Soon after we began receiving comments on my daughters college theatre's Facebook page questioning her political ideologies and other personal matters from profiles that we did not recognize. These harrassing messages grew increasingly hostile and began migrating to other social media sites where they also attacked her classmates online accusing them of being "racist" or "homophobic".
There were a few physical threats sent to her on Twitter and that's when we notified the department head and the campus detective about them, however they don't believe that they came from anyone at the college. This nonsense caused the school to cancel classes and performances as a "precaution". But many students were upset over the cancellation and much of the drama went back to the facebook page then dragged on into 2020. That's when several of the strangers began posting various peoples names and addresses, and what a group called Anti Fascist (ANTIFA) terms "doxing" for their "alt-right list" or "hit list". But none of this made any sense- since we stayed away from politics and we never got involved in any of those things.
We sent the posts to the detective on the case but I don't know if anything was ever done. My daughter eventually befriended one of the persons on the "hit list" through Twitter and learned that they both had ordered items from FossilFueledFX. Her friend was able to identify that the threatening posts may have come from someone at or who had access to the FossilFueledFX company database because one of the addresses posted on the "hit list" was a maildrop address and name used once only once by her friend to get a package from FossilFueledFX delivered to her while staying at a friends place. The user who posted that address used a fake profile that also shared a #blacklivesmatter post by FossilFueledFX (https://facebook.com/FossilFueledFX/posts/763126764092100). During the summer of 2020 when everyone was spending a lot of time online due to the closure of schools due to COVID-19, my daughter began getting continuous suspensions on her social media accounts. She believes someone had been making false reports on her. This basically cut her off from the the college's theatre groups page. Looking back, it seemed that all the suspensions cited posts that referenced FosselFueledFX heads and parts as "hate" or "nudity". We believe someone may have been reporting them. At that point we thought it was a user upset at FossilFueledFX or disgruntaled employee. Recently my daughter came across a post on a "Furry" forums site questioning if they ever got messages from FosselFueledFX threatening to file false reports. We contacted the user [who wishes to remain anonymous] via PM, the user shared several messages that claimed to be from [email protected] and addressed to supposed end clients and customers threatening to file false reports. Other former customers have claimed similar experiences https://www.etsy.com/shop/FossilFueledFX/
Its clear to us that someone working at or formerly worked at FosselFueledFX, possibly ties to ANTIFA or Black Lives Matters has been sending threatening messages to customers. We are absolutely disgusted that a company or rogue employee would commit such (possibly politically motivated) hateful and dangerous acts. My daughter and her classmates lost over a year of their life and academic work. We never imagined buying costuming parts would bring so much hell. My daughter, her peers, and myself would appreciate a formal response and explaination of the threats from whoever is responsible.
