Experian and Free Credit Report dot com have conspired to trick people into a so called free credit report. They give you ONE and then you have 7 days to cancell or they start charging your credit card on a monthly basis.

Even though they tell you a number of times that you must cancell, it is very vague and deceptive. Most people forget to cancell withn the 7 day trial period and they ususally get hit 2 or 3 times before they know what happened.

There needs to be a notificatio rewuired by this kind of trick marketing scheme that your trial period is now over and you are going to be charged if oyu don't cancell. This is a deceptive trad practice and it needs to stop.

I just filed a rip-off report on www.annualcreditreport.com and Experian because they are charging my credit card for two $14.95 charges per month after I tried to get a "free" credit report using the before mentioned site. The site required a credit card number before it would let me see my "free" report. There were no warnings about canceling w/in 9 days as the chick at experian tried to tell me. She even said that I should have gone to the very same website I used to get the free one. Experian is comitting fraud. period. I am having to dispute charges and cancel my credit card!

You cannot blame Free Credit Report. com for not cancelling your membership. It clearly states on TV and online that it's a 7-day free trial membership and if you do not cancel within that 7 days you WILL be charged. People need to stop blaming FCR.com for there own forgetfulness. I guess people need there hand held 24/7 to tell them and remind them of things they need to do. If your keeping an eye on your credit card statements then you should cancel your membership after the FIRST charge if you don't want it. Why would you wait 2 or 3 charges before doing something about. If your not planning on being a customer of FCR.com after you pull your credit report with them you need to call right then and there while its still fresh on your mind and CANCEL it. I've been a customer for 6 months. This company is doing nothing deceptive.

I am sorry to say this but all the pricing and cancellation terms are disclosed before the purchase along with the note that this is not the website to get your free credit report that is allowed to you by law every 12 months. The website has this disclaimer on the home page: When you order your free report here, you will begin your free trial membership in Triple AdvantageSM Credit Monitoring. If you don't cancel your membership within the 7-day trial period**, you will be billed $14.95 for each month that you continue your membership. ConsumerInfo.com, Inc. and Freecreditreport.com are not affiliated with the annual free credit report program. Under a new Federal law, you have the right to receive a free copy of your credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide consumer reporting companies. To request your free annual report under that law, you must go to www.annualcreditreport.com.

I also found that FreeCreditReport.com DID NOT properly advertise that it was a free trial and that they were extremely difficult and argumentative when I called to cancel. I and several other people I know did not see information on the 7 day free trial anywhere when we signed up. It is possible that it was written somewhere, but it was definitely not prominently displayed on their website in any way. When I went to cancel, I had to stay on the line for 15 minutes with someone who did not speak english well and constantly interupt them in order to cancel. Everytime I asked her to cancel, she repeated the same lines about how valuable it was and that I should reconsider. I said it at least 4 times and got quite angry with her before she actually cancelled it.

As well as this taking up the left hand side of the front page: ' IMPORTANT INFORMATION When you order your free report here, you will begin your free trial membership in Triple AdvantageSM Credit Monitoring.
