I contacted Aslan Hajivandi 800-716-7608 x 1018 with freight center and scheduled a shipment of some equipment.
I was quoted a price and agreed on it. Freight center then contacted an independant trucking to pick up my equipment ( vitran express) I was not aware of the company that would be shipping my equipment until after the equipment was picked up.
Upon arrival of the equipmet, The equipment had $1,580.00 in damages and freight center stated they would cover .10 per pound. ($140.45) I explained that I was not informed on the coverage and Aslan Hajivandi said that yes he agrees and they will be changing their policy in the near future and stated (I'm sorry there is nothing I can do....)
I asked multable times and had to demand to speak to a manger, Aslan finally gave me his managers name and number (connie super 800-716-7608 x7824

However, he stated that she would be out for a week or so. While I was trying to get my claim covered Freight center charged my card and additional 650.00+ without any notice or explanation. There was a discrepancy in the weight charge and I was williing to pay the difference. However, they just stole the money without asking and now it is my responsibility to reclaim my money.
Meanwhile the other company (vitran express) has refused to pay my claim because it was supposedly packed incorrectly. I explained to Aslan that it would be on a pallet and he stated that it would be acceptable. The bill of lading also discloses the method packaging.
Beware both Freight center and Vitran express are using deceptive business practices. I have to take both companies to court to get resolved a simple situation. They accepted my package, damaged it in transit & should pay for damages.
