Mrs. Bumstead actually contacted us on-line for help. We never solicited her or took her on as a client. We discussed her particular situation and I told her we could probably help her get a loan modiification of her mortgage. I sent her all of our Retainer paperwork to handle her case, of which she signed & faxed me back a Limited Power of Attorney to work with her lender before we ever accepted any payment from her. I then told her what our fee would be to handle her case, sent her via email, a link to the Florida Bar Assoc. to check out our REAL reputation. She then gave us her credit card info to become our client. We had never ran her card or submitted any paperwork to her lender, but she called me at 11PM that night, after I presume her son contacted her with unsubstantiated info about our firm, and she verbally assaulted me at my home & told me that she did not want us to represent her. I respectfully never tried to charge her credit card and tore up the paperwork she faxed us. I then contacted her by email & by phone just to let her know how I felt about her absurd accusations. She told me she would think about us representing her and let me know. Next thing I hear is that our firm (& specifically my name) had been submitted to Rip-Off Report. This is not right....anyone can falsify & accuse anyone of really doing anything on this website and the world has access to this. I am looking at filing a Defamation of Character lawsuit against Mrs. Bumstead unless a retraction is submitted immediately!
