G. F. Institute I received an official looking envelope about "Official Information Re: $25,000.00 Grant from U.S. Government" . Kansas City Kansas
I received mail from the G.F. Institute, Kansas City, Kansas with red lettering on it reading "Action required ASAP for Release. Open/Read". I opened it to
find a postcard with a red "APPROVED" stamp on it, a black arrow header reading "IMPORTANT RELEASE OF GOVERNMENT FUNDS PENDING", and addressed underneath to me with a Release Code and another header in smaller black print reading "Deadline for response: 36 hours from receipt."
It read "Our office is attempting to reach you . Urgent matter regarding upcoming release of Government Funds . Estimate of funds pending: $25,000.00 (Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars) . Funds may be used at your discretion (bill payment, travel, continuing or advanced education, healthcare) . IMMEDIATE ACTION: To confirm your interest in these funds, please call number below .
Of course, the envelope and postcard inside do not have a street address or zip code.
These guys should be taken out and horsewhipped for trying to prey on people; the economy is tough enough without having to find blarney like this in your mail box. I know that someone will fall for it, but hopefully enough people will see this report to realize it's a SCAM!
