I contacted GBOX in ealy 2010 when my 1999 996 transmission started to make a "whining" noise and GBOX was always on the rennlist forums as people who specialize in transmission repairs.  After talking to Erik Johnson he convinced me to buy a 4.0 ring and pinion set for my car say it would be a good performance upgrade.   I sent my transmission to GBOX to have it repaired and the new 4.0 ring and pinion installed.  When I got it back the transmission was not running as "smooth" as OEM... I noticed vibrations that weren't there...  so I complained and they told me it was normal "break-in" and it would get better... over the coming months it did not get better but in fact got "worse"....

a year later I contacted GBOX again and I was informed that ERIK JOHNSON no longer worked there and Stan who is one of the owners of GBOX LLC and he told me that I owed them $1000 for a core charge because my core was rebuildable and they had to use a new one for me!!!  he didn't even address my complaint!

AT NO POINT WAS I TOLD BY GBOX THAT i was not getting my original gearbox back.. I was lied to and charged extra $$$ to have it repaired and certain components "strengthened"... probably their cover for switching out the gearbox I sent in to give me another one... but they never told me of this until I called them a year later to complain about the noise I heard from my gearbox.

by 2012 the noise was very very loud and I had my shop take the side cover off the transmission and we have pictures to show that the pinion gear only had wear in to specific teeth... they were pitted quite badly and I was told I would have to replace them or just get a new gear box a the cost of purchasing a new ring and pinion and installing was very high.

Two other independent analysis of those photographs of the pitted pinion gear were revealing.  One expert indicated that they had sold me a part from 2008 and that the year was clearly visible from the photograph.

the other expert told me since only two teeth pitted from the pinion gear that the set they sold me was probably used and or repaired an re--sold....  I was changing my gear oil every 8 track days so neglect of maintenance was certainly not the issue here.

One of the experts also told me he pulled GBOX license for selling their products because my complaint was not the first he had been asked to advise on.

If anybody is thinking of using GBOX think again... selling used equipment and not even telling me that they were replacing my core makes them scam artists just praying on innocent people pretending to offer a service at a low cost when in fact they are taking their customers for a ride!

buyer beware... my advice is to contact your local porsche dealership and DO YOUR HOMEWORK before you deal with companies like GBOX.

These people are crooks. Did the wrong job and tried to charge almost triple.  I agree with this report, gbox (gboxweb.com) from boulder, Colorado are dishonest. No wonder they aren't members of the BBB, they'd have too many complaints and an F rating!
