I have done work for Winmar for the past 4 years and have worked myself to the "go to contractor" all the project mangers called, me because had no call backs from the work completed by my company. I put in my invoices as usual but started to get concerned when my invoices reached 18,000 dollars I put a hold on work for Winmar and now have been jumping through hoops to try to collect my money. I have hired a lawyer to collect my money and had them send a demand letter and Winmar they did not respond. I called and talked to Winmars controller and she said they were holding all my money because of one disputed invoice, a job I had done in Kitchener for a home owner that was unhappy with my work, I found out the complain was some dust on the drop of there buffet and flower arrangement hanging in the wall above eye level .My guy must have missed it when he was cleaning. Now I have a back charge from Winmar for 4,989.00 and are going to deduct that from by invoices ,one that is cleaning of the house for 40 hours. And an other for scratching the motorcycle . What motorcycle I never saw one. Roseanne The controller said I won't get any of my 19,000 till I sign a paper stating I will agree to the back charged invoice and not go after any more money they owe me. (blackmail) I dont think this is right the invoices were from 2010 and now mid February and still no money. So many years of hard work and this is what I get. I would like to worn any contractors at this time to stay away from this company. Now I have asked for the details for the back charges over a week ago and have not received a response.

Grant Loendorf - changed company name from GHI Contracting to Right Reno. His website: http://www.rightreno.ca/
632 Colby Drive Unit F, Waterloo Ontario - Phone number 519-546-4142 His quote: "Renovations Done Right".
Here's a solution for the future:
Clean up your work site after you finish working.
You have proven notorious for leaving garbage, lunch refuse, screws, materials all over walkways, driveways, backyards, sideyards etc for days, weeks and months. You have damaged customers property and possessions. Own up to it and repair/replace these items.
You wouldn't be charged clean up fees if you would just handle it on your own. Pretty simple.

BUYER BEWARE !!
Having GHI Contracting come to my home was THE worst experience in my entire life with respect to renovation. I built a new home and have had a ton of trades come and go prior to the basement renovation so feel like I am a pretty good judge of quality workmen who know what they are doing. Everything was going well with the other trades and was on track until he arrived.
This person is a fraud and can't even saw a straight edge because he uses old and dull tools and says he can't see properly out of one eye. He damaged (gauged) a $700 countertop, chipped chunks out of the cupboards, sawed off pieces that weren't supposed to be sawn off, snapped off cupboard legs and tried to hide the damage with a piece of kick plate, didn't know how to properly level cupboards and left me to do it, forgot to level some and caused all kinds of gaps and materials that didn't line up, didn't know how to install the build ups properly and put them all on wrong, asked could he borrow other people's tools and materials that were on the premises, came without a tape measure and appropriate tools several times and including his initial visit and had to borrow mine,
screwed up the countertop measurements to the depot three times, cost me multiple amounts of materials because he misjudged the project and changed his mind several times on how to make the project work, constantly chatted on his cell phone and looked for work online while supposed to be doing the job, and then wondered why he had been turned away from over 20 projects in the last few months and blamed it on a failing economy, lied to me on several occasions, disappeared often and quickly, had irrational tantrums and then wanted a "hug" to make up for his behaviour, is not accountable for his mistakes and tries to push the blame on the homeowner, the countertop depot girl, and the manufacturer of the cupboards. The same way he fluffs off the customer complaint in his report. He also made around 30 holes in my drywall looking for the stud, even after I offered him my stud finder. He made some joke about it finding him...ugh.
He seems very nice and responsible at first but gets stressed out quickly and is extremely argumentative. When you point out a problem he says, "no-one will notice" or "it's fine" - which is exactly what he said when I said he would wreck my countertop with his tools if he wasn't careful - and he did! He complained about wanting more money once he started working after we had already agreed upon a price.
I since found out he has been fired from Barzotti woodworking and other similar companies throughout his history. Please save yourself a lot of stress and time and money and DON'T hire this person. Red Green looks like Mike Holmes (Holmes On Homes) compared to this guy.
You are probably wondering why I hired him? He was referred to me by Winmar - I don't think they even know he has written this repost about them. He also drives a huge van with his name all over it (which I suspect he bought from someone else maybe along with the name) and this big van gives the false impression he is an established company and knows what he is doing when he really has no clue whatsoever. He is a walking disaster and won't refund me my money, even though I had to pay professionals to come and fix everything he wrecked.
