I attended presentation in Orlando, FL last year May 2013. A group of about 25 of us were shown a video and agents biggest selling point was all their properties are 4 and 5 star, luxury resorts throughtout US and overseas. During one-on-one with agent I was shown different luxury hotels on ipad maps showing locations all over the world and you get 4 weeks out the year. They offer huge discounts $1000s of for signing up same day. I took the bait the deal went from either $7000 or $9000, to $5000 and $490 down and $133 a month til paid off. Within 2wks after joining I received calls from Global Discovery Vacations offering to drop price down from $4000+ to $1500 with lump some payment.
It took a while for me access there website with my member id. Reviewing their website I found more than half their locations in US and abroad weren't available some for more than 6 months. Upon looking at pictures of their properties majority were dated not, more like 2 stars, some condos located in undesirable areas of town far from everything. In other countries properties were away from inland and tourist communities. This was a huge concern. I started searching for customer reviews on company thru google finding their properties are in nearby towns or seperate islands that can be dangerous to foreign tourists.
I contacted Global Discovery Vacations to cancel their service around time of first installment in July. My checking account paid ach debit 7/11/13 $133, and again on 8/13/13 $133. I again contacted company about cancelling services and refunding my money. The representative was very rude and inform me there's no cancellation they would send to collections and report on my credit. I disputed charges to my bank and they did ach reversal for 2 payments of $133 each 8/27/13. I still lost my downpayment checkfor $490, plus this showing as a derogatory mark against my credit.
