I recently purchased what was advertised as a new Samsung S6 Edge 128gb unlocked phone from Glyde.com. I made my payment using a Mastercard gift card for the entire amount (that depleted the value of the card to Zero). Having done business with Glyde before, I thought all would be good and I got rid of the gift card.
I recieved a 32gb model of the phone (a significantly cheaper model). I reached out to Glyde to explain the issue and request a return for refund. They acknowledged my request and initiated a return, but said that they could ONLY refund the money to the original card. I explained the situation to them in over a dozen emails, but kept getting the same answer. They were very sorry, but there is nothing that they can do.
What is most frustrating is that the company has only a single email address and no phone number to contact and try and resolve the issue. I've asked for a replacement, a Glyde.com credit, or a credit to another credit card I have on file. All were met with "There is nothing else we can do". No escalation point, no manager involvement, no call back to me (I provided my phone number), no options at all.
I feel like they are blaming me for their false advertising and not holding the seller to any kind of standard or responsibility. They treat me like I am trying to scam THEM. I'm left with either keeping the phone (having paid a HIGH premium for it) or returning the phone and losing all the money, as it would be refunded to a card I no longer have. I've never had this much difficulty with an online retailer before, but I'll definitely not do business with them again, and I'll be sure to tell everyone I know or run into that this is not a company to be trusted.
