Beware of Vacation Class S.A. (advertising The Bliss Resorts, Bliss Vacation Club, The Grand Mayan, Vida Vacations, VidaSales, Vidanta, Ventas Riviera Maya and more). They will try to sell you useless timeshare membership. Don't be fooled!

There are hundreds of well trained salespeople on The Grand Mayan whose objective is to make you fall in the trap. They have Mexican, American, Brazilian, Russian, French, German agents prepared to catch tourists from all over the globe.

It's unbelievable how the Mexican authorities condone with such a dishonest scheme. There are some people just outside the airport lobby to catch tourists in their timeshare membership trap.

After eight hours traveling I was met at the airport lobby in Cancun by someone who looked like an airport or Mexican government employee misrepresenting his intention. They seem to work at a "Tourist Information" kiosk, but they are actually part of the scheme. I was just looking for a rental car company, but I ended up being caught when I approached their fake "tourist information" counter. The next day I went to The Grand Mayan to pay for the other half of some park tickets I had bought at the airport (since I had payed the first half in advance). There I was subjected to five hours of high-pressure sales tactics before I signed a document for a vacation club membership.

When I got at my hotel I learned more about them from the internet and tried to cancel the contract, but they said that it couldn't be cancelled unless I lost the 2,700 dollars I payed for the membership.

My emails about canceling the whole deal and getting my money back were never answered. I had to go to The Grand Mayan again (losing more vacation time) to try to cancel it, but they refused to give my money back.

I hope that this post reaches you before you travel to Mexico. Stay away from these people when they try to get you at Cancun airport.

Be careful! You are going to lose your money and your precious vacation time. Do something better: go to the beach, to the Mayan ruins, to the cenotes. Don't waste your time and your money with these people.

I was convinced by Mayan Palace timeshare sales people that an upgrade to my timeshare from Mayan Palace to Mayan Place Regency would make it easier to rent and more saleable. I entered into a contract for $6,720.00 to complete this upgrade. I have since learned that this upgrade is doing nothing for me as I try to sell and rent the unit. The list of benefits is this:Elite Reservations rental program (which I had available before),RCI enhanced pkg, certificates for cruise and vacation discounts, 50% off golf green fees (previously it was 20%), no mandatory maintenance fees after 5 years if I don't use the property?? Lots of free extra benefits and vacation bonuses but nothing tangible. I owe a cash out of $4,368.00. I wonder what the consideration of this contract is? I have all the paperwork and had to email the sales office to get a list of benefits I paid for
