Greyhound Bus Station Security Guard  has adjusted the overhead fans on as a deterent from passengers snowed in layover, from sleeping.

I arrived at approximately 4:35pm from Rochester NY, onwards to Binghamton NY. I was informed that no additional buses will be leaving Syracuse due to a blizzard that has occured  the previous day and had crippled the East coast, battering it with snow. The passengers travelling onward from Syracuse are virtually stranded here at the Syracuse Greyhound Bus station for 12-15 hours.

The Greyhound Supervsor was nice enough to offer me a food Voucher because of my Medication, which is a Blood thinner, and the fact that I hadn't the slightest idea of any changes out of Rochester regarding delays and layovers.

The current Tempature outside is 12 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 20 degrees below Celsius. The New York State Occupiable Public Spaces LAW  602.5 states that the tempature within an Occupiable Public Space should remain at a constant 68 degrees. The current tempature within the Greyhound Bus Station in Syracuse is barely below the standard 68 degrees, which is the Law. And the ceiling Fans are still spinning.

I asked the Security Guard to show me the Thermostat and he informed me that it was Automatic. However, the overhead ceiling fans were in the off position before  he entered a control room and when he re-emerged back unto the floor , the Over head ceiling Fans were on.So not only has he broken the New York State Ordinance which is NOT in compliance with the state laws, but when asked about the Thermostat he arrogantly stated that it was automatic, and chuckled. He routinely harasses  paying customers from sleeping, but them, same as myself are supposed to stay awake for 12-15 hours, while waiting for they're re-routed bus to arrive. That's preposterous and has forced me to take matters into my own hands.

This is a tactic that Security Guards use to keep people from sleeping in the stations. Its an old Tactic that keeps rearing its ugly head and its completely unacceptable due to the current whether Conditions present outside. I have been riding Greyhound for years. I've never , ever experienced a scenario like this in a public space, as a Paying Customer. I am apalled at the Audacity of the Security and the Tactics that he's using and I seek to further this action by filing a formal complaint with the company.
