This is a follow up to another poster whom encountered this guy in Mill Valley.

I was at the Bank of America parking lot, approaching my vehicle. (located off Hesperian BLVD in Hayward Ca). He had a late model GMC suv/van vehicle, which looked new and stock, like a rental.

He asked if I spoke Italian and since I read it fluently (however cannot speak it) I approached him. He showed me his EU passport with Italian designation and a Lufthansa airplane ticket to ROMA although the ticket looked tattered and almost heat damaged. (some tickets, like some receipts if left out in the heat start turning black.)

Anyway, the ticket made me leary as it looked old. He had two leather jackets in garment bags. told me he wanted to sell them and that his flight was in an hour. He did not want to pay taxes on them and that he would sell them to me for $30 dollars (or so I thought I heard him say).

he parked around the corner at the Southland mall parking lot and showed me the pink jackets and the suede jacket which he tried the lighter trick on. He keep saying GUCCI, but all the jackets were an off brand. He even had the catalog with the off brand on the cover and pictures of guys with the same exact jackets but they were not GUCCI nor ARMANI etc. It looked to be a company that makes look alikes.

I never got to see the tag, to see whether it said Made in Italy or 100% Cuir or Pelle de Cuir or not. He wanted a thousand for the whole thing and even said lets go back to the ATM to get the rest. I told him no in Italian and that I did not have it. although I should have told him the truth and told him he was a crook.

He walked away and got in his car. He even asked for his business card back, but I told him that I would call him when I go to Milan. ha hah hah. THe last thing is that DANTE MILANO is a person, not an actual address in Milan. Also his card was cheap as mentioned by the previous poster, and it had a mixture of English and Italian, like G. Manager (General Manager) and then ITALY in parenthesis, like any one would not know that Milano is in Italia.

This guy is taking advantage of people. I hope they catch him. luckily we did not fall prey to his antics. The jackets look nice but are worth more like $50 each not 'MILLE DOLLARE'.
