My miele dishwasher was not draining properly. I contacted Hagerstown Appliance Repair for dishwhasher repair person. They wanted a credit card for payment of the innitail assesssment. I provided that and was charged $50. I received a phone call from Kenny (304-283-0760) who made an appointnet to come to my home. He did come and removd the dishwasher rform its alcove and partially took it apart. After a quick investigation he told me I needed a new pump. He called Miele Appliances and ordered the part to be shipped and billed to me. The cost to me was $222.53. He charged me $70 and required payment in cash. The part came on Saturday.
On Monday I called Kenny to tell him the part had arrived. He came later that day to install the pump. He turned the dishwasher up side down to work on it. I did not hover over him as he worked, Later he told me he was finished. The dishwasher waa runing at that point. Later I realized that no water was in the dishwhasher. I called him numerous times on his cell phone but he did not answer. This went on for several days.
Finally I called The phone number on his invoice (888-287-8009: The Appliance Repair Men). I learned that this is located in Arizona. Apparently they farm the service opportunities to service people in exchange for the diaagnonis fee that was initially pain to them ($50.) I asked for a refund. They did refund the diagonosis fee but said the service fee was between me and Kenny. Kenny has refused to refund any par of what I paid him.
Kennny came to my home three times and awas always in a hurry to leave. Along the way I did learn that he had some person problems with an hospitalization of a child.
Eventually I was able to make contact with a service person recommended by Miele the manufacturer of the dishwasher. That was Handy Applicance Service, Lovettsville, VA, 703.279-7857.
The service person was here for nearly 2 hours. The Handy Applicance Invoice is No. 33814NL-9. Copye availalbe on request. Service performed is notes as "Found uniut will fill, wopn't drain. Found water leak at sump seal. Clamp disengated. Reinstall clamp correctly + secure. Leak test ok. Reconnected pump drain and hoses + intake + connector. Test operate ok. High loop routed."
The repair person form Handy expressed the opinon tha tthe original pump still wroked and did not need to be replaced. Handy Applicna Service ccharged me $143 for a diagnostic fee and $55 for "Comp. Call Labor".
The dishwasher is working flawlessly.
The Handy Serivce man also said he found loose hot electiorc wires between the case and the washing compartment. He also expresse the strong opinion that the oriignal punp did not have to be replaced. I still have that pump.
I have talked with The Applicance Repair Men several times. Their position is that Kenny worked for me and not for them therefore it is my problem. They will not refund my payment so Kenny They did say they would refund the $50 NonReufundable Service Fee.
I wolk like some assistanc in recovering the moven I paid to Kenny (($70 + $90) plus the $222.53 fopr the pump.
Thank you,
