Halfpricedmags.com, Snappymags.com Rip off Internet
I am sad to say that I am now a victim of halfpricedmags.com / snappymags.com. I placed an order for 3 magazine subscriptions and never received any of them.
After contacting the actual magazine companies several times to see if my order had been received by them I finally decided to do a web search. I found out that I am not the first person that has had this trouble. It seems that if you type in halfpricedmags.com on Google you can find many web pages with complaints.
I only wish I had done the search before my purchase.
I happened to read a complaint that said some companies or banks won't do a charge back or investigate after 60 days. I read this just in time.
After several unanswered emails sent to several different people at these subscription companies I went to my bank. I had to file a fraud alert and cancel my card. Thanks to my bank I did get my money back, but a lot of people do not.
I think someone should do something to keep them from stealing peoples money. Some of the complaints that I read were posted back in 2005 and that was just where I stopped looking.
It's pretty clear that this has been going on for some time.
