Hamsterball Studios Laurie RyanRandall RyanRandy Ryan They told us the "Voice Over" recording would cost $10,000 and then they billed us, without a contract, for $20k and told us if we didn't pay they were going to take us to court. When we asked for a itemized receipt they refused to provide one. They also told us, over the phone, that they would trash our business to other companies they work with if we didn't pay on time and told us they were also suing someone else already. This told me what kind of racket they run. I thought the internet at large should be aware and stay away from these people. Austin Texas
We had hired Hamsterball Studios to do voice over work for one of our video games and asked them how much it would cost. Then they asked "well, how much is your budget?" When we told them our budget of $10,000 they said it would be tough but they could do it. We had one of our business development guys (who we have since terminated for cause, Mark Chuberka), do the deal with them, and after Mark was terminated Randy's wife Laurie called our offices and told us it was going to be $20,000 and that she had settled that already with Mark. Nowhere was there any contract of any sort with them and nowhere in any email was $20,000 discussed. When we told them we never agreed to that they told us if we didn't pay their invoice they would take us to court, just like they were in the middle of taking someone else to court. Obviously, this is their racket. Laurie also told us on the phone (not in writing) that her and her crook of a husband / business partner would bad mouth us to the entire video game industry if we didn't pay what they were demanding.
On top of all that, they couldn't even provide us with an itemized receipt of where the money was going. We didn't want any strife with them so we paid the whole amount and just told ourselves we would never, ever do business with these people again and tell as many people as possible. Then, thanks to our friend Billy Cain, were pointed to this website where he told us we could file a report against them.
Do not do business with Hamsterball Studios. They will use the "bait and switch" method of business which is why they don't have a lot of repeat business, or so it seems (not 100% sure on that one). They definately don't have it from us!!!!!
