I wish that I had known about Rip-Off Report before ordering from this company.
In June of this year I ordered a Folkwear pattern from them to be used in a theatrical production. I paid via PayPal and received a confirmation of my order. However, the pattern never arrived and I had to wing it for the costumes. Harper House never responded to any of my emails, nor was I able to reach them by phone.
I strongly advise readers not to do any business with this company.

New owner for Harper House

My husband and I bought Harper House from the old owner, and we were assured that all orders up to that point had been filled. We did not receive any payment for any orders that were placed prior to Feb. 2007, and we regret that we cannot afford to fill old orders since we did not get paid for them. However, we can assure everyone that this is certainly not the way we do business, and we would never take money from people and then not send the products. We have had many happy customers since we took over the business, and the vast majority of in-stock orders get shipped within 24 hours. We are in the process of updating the website and adding some new pattern lines. We want to become a valuable resource to reenactors, theatres, museums, and anyone interested in historical clothing.
