I bought a 62" toshiba DLP on Feb 26 2006, On Tuesday June 7 2006 it decided to stop working because the bulb blew out. Proir to the bulb burning out it started turning itself off on on. I call the warranty dept since I have the 5 year Extended ripoff Warranty. They tell me I have to call toshiba because the tv is less than a year old. So I get the number from them and it turns out to be a fax number. I call them back get another number that is for computers only.

Again I call HHGREG and finally someone with an IQ higher than 12 sets me up with a repair service which is supposed to call me with in 24 hours. OK! we're moving forward. They never call. I call them. Oh we had the wrong number. Ok Whatever.When can you come up. Hey we can be out there friday at 4 pm. Cool. Friday comes around. Here comes Mr Country Bumpkin with his personal s-10 with a load of who knows what in the back but it was full. Hops out of the truck smokin a cig, Hasn't shaved in 3 days,T-shirt untucked with a used box that says "GOOD BULB".

Oh Boy. Comes in the house,proceeds to give me his life history on how his son has been in jail for the last 9 months. HEY BUDDY, I DON'T CARE JUST FIX THE TV.

So he slides my tv out replaces the bulb, writes the serial number and say "THERE YOU GO> ALL FIXED" hmmm. AH HELLO. shouldn't we turn it on to see if it works? He's like. yeah probably wouldn't be a bad idea. So we turn it on. Uh Uh. why is my picture so dark? dark to the point thaqt you can hardly see the picture at all. The repair man says he doesn't know why but to. NOW GET THIS.. Make do with it for the weekend, someone will call you monday. Monday comes,no phone call. call them, no one knows about it. call them back 2 hours later. Sir our tech is always in the field and we are trying to coordinate a time when he can be here to talk with toshiba.

Screw it. I call HHGREG. Talk with the manager has it resheduled with another repair shop and they should be calling me asap. 3 hours later I call them. Sir we are not taking any service cals at this time. they tell me that the first guy that came out is taking care of all there service. NO THANKS NO THANKS NO THANKS. Call hhgreg again they set up with someone else. they actually do call me in a short period of time but they need me to fax them a copy of my reciept to varify that i am under warranty still. WHAT!!! after they recieve it they will call me back to schedule a time. I give up. any one want a 62 dlp pile of junk that only cost 3,500.00 the stand for 399.00 and the extended warranty for another 399.00. 4,100.00 for a tv that doesn't work. HHGREG should check out their repair people before letting them have a contract. Yes I know for the smart a*s that is going to reply to this that the extended warranty is handled by GE. SO WHAT. ultimately HHGREG is the beggining entity of all the night mares
