Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I recently purchased a washer and dryer from HH Gregg's on a Sunday. On Monday, the washer and dryer were installed in my home. The salesperson informed me at the time of my purchase that the washer and dryer would be installed with the whole nine yards, testing, leveling, etc.

The person who installed the washer turned it on for a few minutes. The person installing the dryer told me that the plastic vent hose that I had was a fire hazard and that it was listed on my dryer. I had never had a problem whatsoever with the plastic dryer hose. The dryer installer did not have the right size clamp for my outside exhaust so he told me that I could go to HH Gregg and pick one up and install it myself. He tried to make do with what he had.

I started a load of laundry after they left. When I went to take the clothes out of the washer into the dryer, I noticed a puddle of water. My washer was leaking. I called HH Gregg right away and told them of the matter. They said that they would send someone on Wednesday. (This was Tuesday.) I had a floor full of water so I put some towels down to soak up the moisture. I then put the towels in the dryer but did not turn it on. I moved the dryer back about an inch and sparks flew, igniting the foil hose.

A small fire started. I called 911 and the fire department came. The fire was out before they got there but there was smoke damage. The fire inspector told me that the fire was not electrical but it was caused by poor installation of the dryer. The hose was placed in between the outlet and the wall.

As of one week later, HH Gregg has not taken any responsibilty for the damage. It was told to me today that the installation was not the cause of the fire. So how did the fire start? It is pretty coincidental that the fire started just one day after new installation of the dryer.

I have not had a dryer for a week. My clothes are rock hard. If I wanted to live like this, I would have become Amish.

I don't see how you are upset with HH Gregg

I am sorry if I am reading this incorrectly. From what I am reading you are saying that the guy installing the dryer told you that the hose you had was a fire hazzard. You then went on to use the hose any way and it started a fire. If this understanding of the situation is correct, I don't see how you are upset with HH Gregg about the fire.
