Hill and King Said I'd been accepted to the Interview portion of a job I applied for. Internet, Florida
I too received an e-mail from Anne Hill stating that I'd been selected to proceed to the interview stage for a job I applied for. I completed the questionnaire and updated my credit report, for a fee of $14.95. A day or two later I began thinking that it was strange that I had to update my credit report. Usually, employers will request a credit report if they want one. I looked up the company online and found them located somewhere in Northern California. Today, I cannot find their web site. However, I DID find the Rip-Off Report!
This confirmed my suspicions that the e-mail may not have been legitimate, but why did they want me to update my credit report? They can't get access my private information unless they can prove that they are me, so what's up? Who is benefitting from this scam and what is the purpose?
