My electric stove cooktop is made of glass, today it shattered while a pot was on the stove, making the stove unusable. HMS claims that the glass is not covered by the warranty, while the contract states that it covers "Mechanical parts and COMPONENTS affecting the proper operation......."; HMS claims that the warranty states that structural components are not covered, which is true, however, it also states in the list of covered items that "range/COOKTOP/heating" components are covered. Reality is that most parts of a stove or fridge, etc. can be "structural" if you want to make sure not to pay any leggittimate claim.
