Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I Purchased a Duromax duel fuel generator online at Home Depot..When we recieved we put together and put gas in it and it started,,A few weeks later when we needed to use it,,we realized eventhough it started, there was no output of power,,Making it useless. We reported the problem to Home depot, who refused to do anything because it was days outside of return/exchange policy..Not only are we stuck with a $700 hunk of junk,,They refused to publish my negative review of the defective generator,,So other consumers are not warned as to their sales of lemon equiptment or bad business practice to hide behind 30 day warranty if you are sold defective merchandise.

Duromax said it we hire someone to figure out what parts are needed,,they will send parts..So unless I want to dump additional money into a defective generator..I am out 700 plus no generator to show for it

i will never shop Home Depot again ,I have several family members and friends that own their own construction companies..I will be sure that noone else gets ripped off by Home Depot..Lowes will be getting new business

putting together as in putting the handles and wheels on,,I do mostly online shopping and I realize there are people that take advantage of a return policy..But that is not the case here..we took to a mechanic  and they said,,the issue is that its a bad generator..it was a couple days over and with a major problem..There are plenty of companies that realize that bad items get shipped and do the right thing,

There evidently were other people who had same issues with same generator that were way over the 30 day period and the companies they dealt with resolved. not the case with Home Depot..Home depot blocked me from being able to warn others about the problems with this generator and alot of people do count on honest reviews when making there purchase. How would anyone know these issues if Home Depot gets to pick and choose what is posted

As far as peoples jobs go ..I take that very seriously .Many of my family members have their own companies and take it to heart to keep people employed ..i do not think I am more important by any means..i do know that a good business does right by its customers and the decision to replace an item would go through a higher authority,,so No someones not getting fired for resolving an issue that is for a defective item. Return customers make a company money

SOB STORY

Listen, you even admitted that you are the ones who put it together. This means you may have not connected everything. Why should Home Depot care about your problem AFTER the return window? Why should they fall for your sob story?? You are probably wondering why they are being so inflexable on the return window. Well you are a prime example as to the why. You have a issue. Its past the return window. They CANNOT do anything for you. They gave you 30 days to make a return. You didnt do it in that time frame. This isnt their fault. Just because you purchased something from them, doesnt make it their responsability. If you are having issues with your genny, take it up with the manufacturer. They are the ones who made the item that doesnt work. Also check to see if your electrical box is connected. It could be a simple fix.

The reason they will not break the rules of the company is even simpler. They dont need to lose their job because you came in after the return date. If they did the return, THEY WOULD LOSE THEIR JOB!!! Its not about NOT standing behind their product, its about keeping their job so they can feed their families. So by you posting and complaining, you are saying YOU are more IMPORTANT then their job. Sorry buddy, but its not their fault you did not find your issue until after the return window had expired. Its also not their fault that they didnt do your return, they have homes and families of their own to think of. You do realize that not everyone who works in a store LIVES in that store dont you?? They go home. They are not your personal slaves or robots so you cant just give them a demand and expect it to be followed.

Oh and by the way...Lowes has the EXACT same return policies as Home Depot. In fact almost EVERY business out there has the same 30day return window. They give you a whole month. Anything past that is beyond their control. See they figure if you keep it past 30days, ITS YOUR RESPONSABILITY!!!!! YOU OWN IT!!! This means YOU need to take responsability and do the leg work and get your genny working.
