This man speaks the truth. I am a customer that got ripped off from Keith for 700 dollars with no furniture and no refund. By the way i'm a retired Army Sergeant w/ 2 combat tours to Iraq. So now that i'm out of money i decided to use my skills and find him to bring awareness to the police and his customers. This is what i found.
His name is Keith Anthony Byrd, age 47, (alias) k Byrd and his wife Elizabeth Byrd, (alias) liz. They live in Land O Lakes, FL 34639-4888. He has been running a fraudulent business in Raleigh for a while now from two local buildings.
11312 Hickory Grove Church Rd, Raleigh, NC 27613-5952 in 2006-2009
8201 Rowlock Way Ste 110, Raleigh, NC 27613-1146 in 2009-2012
They first started a Company in 2006 called Three J's Furniture LLC. Keith was the manager of this company and his wife was a contact. The way this man operates is pretty simple. He only accepts checks because they don't have a fraud prevention feature, unlike credit cards. Keith and his wife then throw offers on craigslist to lure people to come to his store and pay him for furniture.
He pockets the cash and then ignores calls or screams at his customer to intimidate them. Other times he will send them broken furniture. Then customers have to take him to small claims court which ends up being a big hassle and fruitless because of current business laws. Only a small number of customers claim he actually gave them quality furniture.
In June 25, 2008 a unsatisfied customer tried to buy 5000 dollars worth of furniture from him and was getting scammed. She decided to call the news to bring attention to him. Keith in return had to fulfill this request since his name was getting publicly tarnished. As seen here

In 2009 Keith decides to change the company's name to Home Furniture LLC, except his wife Elizabeth is the manager of this company. Same people, Same result. More complaints roll in and he is in the cross hairs again by the same news company.

2012 Keith has now closed the company with outstanding orders for furniture, including mine and 12 customers that i know of and there is probably more. According to bbb's website, he has 23 complaints mainly dealing with delivery of product.

According to the DA they have 11 cases and rising against this company.
Mike thanks for speaking up. We know it's the truth. I hope you get a hold of us customers and help us put these two cons in jail. We would be happy to hear from you.
Liz and Keith you know what you have done.
I have found you and i will continue to intercept your scam operation and make sure no one gets scammed by the likes of you.. Awareness is the first step to prevention and my eyes are open.
Keith

The person who wrote this story a Michael Hoyle, is stating a lot of incorrect information. First of all he was training for a week and barely showed up for that. He was an hour and a half late one day and we had 2 customers waiting. He took a deposit from a customer, then told me it was for less, and kept the difference. He constantly lied about when he was coming, and where he was. The final straw was on Saturday the 28th. I came in special to train him and another trainee, that day and the day prior, and he doesn't even show up! He didn't answer my calls or texts for hours! He finally texts back at 1:37 saying he was doing yard work for his Aunt, and didn't realize he needed to be there. Busy Saturday in a furniture store, yeah, I didn't need him...
At that point I had enough. The week he was there was nothing but stress. I'm not a doctor, but in my opinion, there's something wrong with him. Example; the other trainee asks me to give him another chance, so I do... He was supposed to be at the store that Sunday the 29th at 12:30 to help Terrence with a customer. He texts me at 10:30 saying he's at church and he's almost done. Don't hear from him for an hour and a half. I had called and texted. Finally get him on the phone at 12:15 and he's at his house 40 minutes away. His "matter of fact" answer was I just gone done with Sunday school. The fact that he was supposed to be at the store in 15 minutes meant nothing!!! I told him to stat home, and that we were done. He then texted back that I owed him money for the "8" days he worked there. The job was commission only, and I owed him nothing... That's when he threatened to contact the labor board, irs, etc. But he hasn't done any of that. He also wanted to be paid of the books without a 1099, because he was collecting unemployment. I've been in the furniture business for 12 1/2 years and, have had my fair share of problems with customers. But Michael Hoyle is out of control. I regret giving him the opportunity to even try to work for me...
So if he comes to you looking for a job, don't hire him. You will thank ME later...
