Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Home instead( 2412 W. Greenway Rd Phoenix, AZ 85023) is a terrible company it's beyond comprehension how much they charge their clients and how little they pay their caregivers who dose all the hard work ,it's equivalent to the child labor in China, so for every one thinking about hiring them you will be supporting a business that take advantage of their workers pay them unfairly and get away with it,no health insurance no benefits the union should get involved to fight for the employees.

I believe this persons is talking out of her rear she is a lire I bet it's one of home instead office staff otherwise how did she or he know exactly how much worker's comp insurance and other expenses coast and they left with $3.30 It's simply a total BS if her calculation was true then the company will be bankrupt. there is other caregivers companies that pays $10 and even $12 an hr Not all the cases the caregivers do nothing most of them the caregiver up all day and all night doing hard lifting and more ,Also most of the caregivers doing this kind of work because they are going to collage or trying to get a degree in something the notion you made that the caregivers uneducated employees is an ignorant statement.

We used a company similar to this one when my mom needed in-home care.  I think we paid $22 an hour.  I, too, was a little shocked at the price, but then I broke it down:

Out of the $22, $8.50 went to the caregiver (balance of 13.50), and about $3.30 went to the employer's share of taxes and worker's comp insurance ($10.20).  From the remaining $10.20 the owner needs to pay for his office staff, rent, utilities, business insurance, internet and phone, and lots more I can't think of. Then, he'd also like to make a bit of a profit.  My guess would be s/he makes about $.50 per hour of billed services.

I own a small business, and I can't afford employees for just this reason. A lot of people have no idea what it costs to run a business, even a very small one.

Be thankful you have a job, even if it a low-paying one.

And let me add this: the only thing my mom's caregiver had to do was "supervise", as mom was bedridden. She prepared her a lunch, and changed the channel on the TV when mom wanted her to. That's it. Doesn't take a college degree or any special skills. Get those, and you might find a higher-paying job.
