Abraham Evans with Homeowners Advance called offering homeowner insurance leads for people refered by lenders who were funded and closing on a home purchase and looking for insurance. We were to call these leads at a pre set appointment time. Same promises as all the other reports, We are guaranteed to write 50 policies in about 45-90 days off the leads and any that don't result in a written policy will be replaced free of charge. We paid $660 by check on 9-19-14.
1 lead a day Monday thru Thursday with all their info verified and expecting a call at the appointed time. First two leads came in on 10-2 & 10-6-14 and when we called them neither were expecting a call from us, buying a house or wanting an insurance quote. The only accurate details were the name and phone number which anyone can get out of a phone directory. I went to the tax district and looked up the address and both of these people already owned these homes.
I sent a an email to Abraham with the exact details of both calls and received an email response from a Michell Smith saying we must be calling them and saying the wrong thing or doing something else wrong and don't use search engine photos or tax assessor records as these sites are 50% wrong. I responded that she did not address my complaint that neither of these leads were buying a home and neither were expecting a call from us.
Next lead was already here so I called him at the appointed time and he was polite but informed me he was not expecting a call from anyone, he has owned that home since 2010, he is not buying a home, he is not even refinancing a home and he was perfectly happy with his insurance carrier and had no interest in a quote. I called Abraham and he asked me to give him a few days to look into it and tweak the telemarketing crew.
This kinda of back and forth continued on for weeks and we continued calling every one of the contacts and the results were the same. On 11-13-14 I sent another email to Abraham requesting a full refund as not one lead had met the criteria he sold me. Some of the leads did not even own a home and had no intention of buying one and some of the phone numbers were no good. I received an email response the next day from a Janet Hayden saying the person in charge of the refund was on vacation and will return by Dec 15 and she will leave her a message.
I responded that this was unacceptable and asked for the name of the owner and their contact information. After about 6 hours with no response I sent Abraham another email saying he was the one who misled me and asking him who I needed to talk to today to get this resolved or that I was going to start complaing to anyone and everyone who would listen.
Within 10 minutes Abraham called me and asked since this was a Friday and people he needed to talk to were not there to give him until Tuesday to resolve. I agreed. On Tuesday 11-18 I called Abraham late in the day as I had not heard from him and he said someone was supposed to fax me over a refund request to sign. He did it and I signed it and sent it back. I was returned to me counter signed by Ashley Ward and stated I would be getting a full refund of the $660.
IO have called and emailed every week since and no refund and no response aznd now they have moved on
