HOMESIDE LENDING is a ripoff. JACKSONVILLE, Florida
ON 10/24/01 my former stepfather passed away. He made me his executrix of his estate. He left his house to my minor son per his divorce agreement with my mother. We contacted Homeside on 11/03 and asked what they needed from us to turn in to the mortgage insurance company.
A certified death certificate. They got it on 12/12. In feburary they started forclosure on the house. Why! Because they never turned in the death certifacate. I turned it in to them when I found out who it was that had the insurance. They wouldn't even tell me that. They seized the house in feburary. No heat and freezing temps caused the pipes to freeze and bust. I now have a 15000 gallon water bill to pay plus replace three floors in the house.
Since then the insurance paid off. Now they want me to pay for their forclosure costs and lawyer fees. I did their job by turning his death to the insurance company. Otherwise they could have forclosed and then turned in the death certificate and got paid twice for the same house and then sold it. Their job was to turn in the death certificate not mine. I gave it to them like they wanted. The way i see it they owe me. All I get is them calling me at work wanting money.
