Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We bought our van Jan.1999 and was paying our payments by money order until Aug.1999 and then in september of 1999 I get a phone call asking for the rest of our payment when I asked what they meant they said I had sent the money order for only $50.00 I called the bank and they checked on our money order and saw that it had been cashed for the full amount that my payment was and only after the woman at the bank and myself fought an everyday battle for around 4 months did they properly credit my acount (I was called and harassed numerous times daily with the people insisting that I send my payments early so they wouldn't have to report us to the credit bureau.)

That clears up smooth sailing until June 2000 when I get a call telling me they had not received my payment again when I called my bank I was informed that the check had been cleared to them for around 3 weeks I was harassed and tortured again for another couple of weeks and daily fighting with them and paying to fax my cancelled check to every idiot that they have working for them finally after I have fought with almost everybody there they admit they have the money and everthing is okay again... for a while.

Jan.2003 I make monthly payment as usual and we decide to get another vehicle so to be smart we decide to pay-off our van the hostage of Household Automotive Finance Corp. I call and get payoff and send it to the special address and wait patiently for my title, we don't get our statement at the first of the month, so I breathe easier thinking it is finally over and then 2 days ago I get a call telling me that somehow they lost my payoff money I tell them it was paid for by check she states you must do 1 of 2 things check and see if it cleared your bank if it did fax me a front and back side of the check or you must write another check , yeah let's get real who has that money to give away twice ?

I check the bank and sure enough it cleared on Jan. 29th well before I can get there this morning I get another call looking for my monthly payment I explain the situation to this girl and she notes our account but then something nags at me our payment wouldn't have been due until Feb. 14th this is the 13th why are they calling early?

So I call back and get informed that they are looking for our Jan. payment I started laughing and said I paid it (as I have paid every one of my payments) he says yes but we applied it for your Dec. payment when I insist that one was paid as well he says I'll put you to a manager guess what voicemail the best escape these people know so I choose another option and get probably their biggest jerk yet, I tell her what is going on and ask to know when I supposedly fell behind she said I'm not telling your anything you can talk to collections that's where you at now!!! Collections told my husband he didn't know what was going on that we were showing paid-off and no payments behind .

I'm thinking that they may have not credited our Jan. payment and when we got our payoff amount they actually charged us more than we owed since they didn't send a statement I'm not sure what is going on . At this point I have faxed my pay-off check to 2 departments and requested a payment history from them so I can try to determine just how badly they have ripped us off.

In case they read this I will be turning them into the West Virginia Attorney General's office and I am willing to get a lawyer if things aren't resolved very quickly . Without your customers you don't exist and I wouldn't finance a bicycle through them if my life depended on it . I have also made it my life's mission to tell anyone who will listen about you .F.Y.I. I am only 33 there's a lot of talking left for me .

I also live in Baltimore Maryland, and have a loan through Household Automotive Finance (HAF). I have had nothing but cooperation and success with this company. In fact, I requested a decrease of my annual percentage rate, which was approved over the phone. My payments went down 42 dollars a month. Additionally, there were no "re-financing" penalties or extra months of payments added to the loan, just free and clear savings! I have read your statement, and have arrived at the conclusion that you and your hushband are an un-educated piece's of trash. I am certain that most of your problems lie with your suffering communication skills. My suggestion to you is that you march down, with your hushband in tow, to your local community college and take english composition - 101.
