Katheryn LaRonde refused to give back a holding deposit. I live in northern california and was told the apartment had an outside balcony with a view and fireplace. The apartment was to be painted and carpets cleaned once the current tenant moved out on 8/31/11.  The apartment was nothing she claimed it to be. No view, no outside balcony and it was filthy.  The move in date was 9/3/11, she went out of town and we could not move in or see it until 9/5/11.  She had assured us the $300 was refundable if we did not accept the apartment. When we told her the apartment was unacceptable she refused to refund the money. No contract was ever signed. She stated it was my problem I didn't see the apartment before giving her the holding deposit.
