My family and I have several health insurance policies including still utilizing a Humana Dental Policy. My husband need to have Medicare Health Insurance. An application was filed but before undergoing the underwriting procedure I attempted to cancel it. The company would not allow me, the wife, POA and beneficiary, also the person who filled out the application online as myself, not as my husband, to cancel the policy. During a period of two weeks I received repeated robocalls and real person calls that said, "We would like to tell you about your policy but no one is here to explain it. We will call back later." What? I told two live representatives that we did not want the policy. The second representative was incredibly rude. I asked for a supervisor, Steve, who was even worse. He called a second time leaving a message to send a letter by fax or by mail with my husband's signature and date to disenroll. We did that. Then I received another robocall about how no one was available to explain the policy. Then a live person called 5 minutes later and I explained that we did not want the policy. He attempted to continue the general rudeness as the others had, so I put my husband on the phone and HE tried to disenroll. My husband literally had to argue with the representative who wanted to know why, etc. Finally, after the call, I called the number back myself. I was told again about the procedure, told him we had written the letter and my husband personally disenrolled on the phone. This representative told me we would be sent a letter stating that he had. I asked the representative if a premium had been taken from our account. He said that the company sends a coupon book. We have no coupon book, no mailed policy, not insurance cards, just unbelievable rudeness. When I get time I will be looking for another dental plan. Clearly Humana has no idea how to speak in a professional manner. I also requested that NO ONE call again and asked that to be in bold letters on their computer. Wehave never been treated so poorly and harrassed so much by an insurance company. Be warned- their idea of customer service is yelling.
