Huron Hardwood And Tom Gillie will take your money and run! Dundas Ontario
After more than a month of research, comparing quotations and examining samples, I placed an order on February 18 2009 with Tom Gillie of Huron Hardwood for 860 sq. ft of Red Oak North Plank flooring.
During the pre-order phase, Mr. Gillie had responded prompltly to all of my queries and gave every impression that Huron Hardwood was a reputable business. The product (from Wickham Hardwood Flooring) looked great.
The order was paid for in full by check and delivery was promised within 3 weeks to a month. My check was deposited at the TD Bank in Dundas on February 20 2009.
One month after the order was placed I contacted Mr. Gillie for an update. He responded that he was trying to coordinate delivery of my order with another order to North Bay. While this was acceptable to me, it was not part of the original contract - in which the flooring was to be delivered to my door from the factory within a month.
Eleven weeks have now passed, and Mr. Gillie and Huron Hardwood are not responding to my emails or telephone calls.
I now fear the worst that Tom Gillie has taken my money and that the flooring I ordered and paid for will never show up. Judging by the other reports on this site, I am not alone!
On a positive note, I have contacted Wickham Hardwood Flooring, and they do have a record of my order. However, they reported that they were unable to release my order without Mr. Gillie's authorization, and that they too were unable to make contact with him.
