On may 30th 2008 I received an offer for a free 2 day cruise to the Bahamas from Imperial Majesty Cruise line vacation in a letter by mail with a $1300.00 voucher. My girlfriend wanted to know what this was all about even though I had a feeling that this was suspicious. Anyway I called this toll free number and talked to an agent who identified himself. To make a long story short after talking to him for over 20 minutes, I found out that the voucher was a $1300.00 rebate on a package deal vacation which would cost us $997.00 plus travel expense for two people + other expenses. It included the two day cruise, 2-3 days in Fort Lauderdale 2-3 days in Daytona beach which included a rental car for 7 days. He left me with his manager who wanted me to make a decision "now" offering me all kinds of upgrades to get me to make a quick decision. He then wanted me to give their booking dept. my credit card number. After telling him I wanted to do a background check before giving my credit card number to a stranger he told me that I was just being stubborn. I was told that if I hung up the deal was cancelled. This offer is only good on one phone call.

I just didn't like the way this was set up. What a joke but I'm sure they will get people to fall for that.

Well, well I knew then that this was not serious. I then hung up.

I then did a background check on this company and found out that you were not getting your money's worth. Back here in Canada this is called pressure sales.

Hope this will help save a lot of people some hardship

Good for you for NOT falling for those high pressure tactics. Anytime someone says that you have to make a decision right then and there , there is ALWAYS a reason why they do not want you to think about it. I would ahve said "the next sound you hear is the phone being hung up" I am glad the people in Canada seem to be a little smarter or at least have more common sense than we do, especially since I have French Canadian ancestors (my Great grandfather is from Trois-Rives)

Offer good for 2 years

Forgot to say that this offer was good for 18 months and was later upgraded to 2 years. Imagine paying 2 years in advance for a cruise to complete strangers on the phone over 1500 miles away in another country.
