Imperial Services Owner did not properly clean vent and added fraudulent charges to bill - bait & switch. Promised refund - never received. Wellington, Florida
On 10/18/10, this company came to my house to clean my dryer vent for $69. During the cleaning, I was advised that the vent needed a new elbow sleeve and the worker also needed to go on the roof and screen the vents, for a total of $190. I was actually charged $259 ($69 + $190). Before he put the dryer back, I noticed the elbow sleeve coming from the wall did not look new. I was told that I couldn't see it because it was in the wall.
Several days after this "cleaning," and before I had used the dryer, I went outside to check the vent where it exits the house. The vent goes up through the wall, through the attic, and exits through a screen under the soffit of the house near the garage. Upon looking at that screen and removing it, I could see that it had not been cleaned at all. I called the company to complain, and was told that he would come back out, reclean the dryer vent, and refund my $69.He gave mesome story about a death in his family, that hewould be out of town, and he would get back with me. I waited and heard nothing.
I called the company again in November several times, reaching the answering service, and never receiving a callback. I once managed to reach a male voice on the phone, who stated that he was Rob and that I needed to talk with Ron, and he would have Ron call me. (I recognized his voice and it was actually Ron who said that - lying to me.) I still never heard back.
I called again a couple of times in December, with no callback. I waited until the holidays were over and called again several times in January, reaching the answering service as usual, and no one has called me back to follow up on what was promised.
I don't believe a new elbow pipe was installed, and I don't believe anyone went up on my roof to screen any vents. The dryer doesn't even vent to the roof! He obviously didn't check to see where it vented. This man is a scam artist, a lier, and completely untrustworthy.

For some reason the customer felt the job was not done and we didn't do what she paid for. After several months of going back and forth I decided to go there show her everything and explain. She then was able to see that what she paid for had been done. I also gave her a refund to show that I wanted to remove any doubt The customer wa very happy. And has highly reccomended us to many friends and neighbors

After finally receiving communication from this company, they went above and beyond and refunded my entire $259, instead of just the $69 as initially promised. I am more than pleased, and would therefore recommend them. Even though it took some time to get resolved, like I mentioned before, they went above and beyond to make things right to keep the customer happy.
