You've heard it so many times by now, but here it goes:

I bought two Motorola Razr V3 cellphones from A1Wireless in 7/05. I waited exactly 180 days and then mailed in all 4 rebates in 4 seperate envelopes, each via USPS certified mail with signature required.

After about two weeks or so, the web site (www.cellphonerebates.com) still didn't show that they were received. I used their online form to inquire - I was told they were never received. Really! You mean to tell me four (4!) USPS certified mail envelopes were lost.

Wow - that's a pretty hard feat - especially considering I had delivery confirmation. Anyway, at this point in time I didn't realize the scam - so they asked me to fax it all in. I did and then their website acknowledged they had received the information and that it was being "processed".

After many weeks, and further inquiries, I was told that it was going through a "verification" process with my cell phone carrier (TMobile) and that this time did not count towards my 10-12 weeks processing time. Anyway, here I am one year later and still being told that they're "processing" my rebates. There is an individual who works at inphonic's "Office of the President" - haha -- that I emailed, her name is Doreen Dennis ([email protected]) who is like the other guy that work's for the "president" who has been posting on sites such as these trying to be helpful.

In any case, she insists that I shouldn't be alarmed and that I just need to wait 3-4 more weeks for an update. I can't say I have a warm and comfey feeling when I'm told I have to wait more after having waiting already 1 year. We'll see, I guess.

You may have noticed that www.cellhponerebates.com now redirects you to www.rebates-status.com/wireless - at which point you type in your information and nothing comes up! At least when the rebates were handled by CPG (Continental Promotion Group) I had a status - as fake as it may have been - and at least there was a link to type in a customer service request -- this new web site has absolutely nothing!

Finally - I got my check!

After 13 months -- I finally got my rebate check for $400. It took a lot of pestering the right poeple, but it finally happened. I'm still upset and really hope inphonic feels the repercussions of their actions (or inactions) -- after all, for every check that gets sent out, there are probably 100 checks that never will be sent -- either because the person accepted the BS stories (and didn't have backup copies) or because some people just aren't willing/able to have to fight to extent that many of us have in order to simply get what is rightfully ours. I hope this helps some of you realize that they are making good on some rebates -- I hope the next is yours -- take care and good luck.

New rebate status website is working, but conflicting info.

In my earlier report, I had stated that www.cellphonerebates.com was redirecting to www.rebate-zone.com/wireless and that there was no info found on my rebates. Well, yesterday my 4 rebates showed up and it said, underneath each of the 4, the following: "Claim approved. Payment pending, please allow 2-3 weeks for payment processing." Now today (7/20/06) there is only my name and address and "Claim ID" showing up -- no additional status. Hmmmmm. Just when I thought I was out of the woods.
