Your situation is no different than the people who are getting ripped off by debt settlers. These people who took your money did nothing for you and made you sign a contract that was misleading allowing them to escape criminal prosecution, and they know this!! As long as these thieves know that what they are doing is not exposing them to criminal prosecution then they will continue to do so at the consumers request. Call the FTC and the attorney general regarding them, file a police report if possible, it will be hard but if they can't show nothing for what they did then it can be criminal!! There are way too many scammers out there ripping people off knowing the worst that can happen is civil prosecution which they could care less about. Your true complaint lies with the government!! my suggestion is never pay for services up front!! This is the only way you can beat a scammer, too bad It's not legal to f&&k them up the a*s and make them bleed for what they do to consumers.
