Angelo, Go ahead and follow JC's advice and call the state attorney general's office! I just did, and I spoke to Annette. And she stated there are no complaints with their office for IPIU!!! The other girl in the office said it is against the law for their office to even offer an opinion on any company! She said the only time they give out any information is if a complaint leads to a state action. I guess I could complain about President Bush and they would refuse to give out any opinion until they did something. Anyone who calls that office will find why JC cannot give us the name of who he says he spoke to or the contents of the letter or the person who signed "the letter". Angelo, you are right about not trusting anyone who writes anything on the internet. Who is JC? Who am I? Angelo, are you Jeremy Lancaster too! One thing I know is you can always find out who is not doing a good job as a private investigator when they cannot provide a name for their source!

Angelo, The replys from "Chris" are most likey from Jeremy Lancaster the true ripoff owner of IPIU. I was a member for quite sometime before they ripped me off! You will find out for yourself that you will gain nothing but mystery shopping and Piracy assignments, You can search for Piracy inspections on the internet and sign up with other law firms besides going with IPIU. I found one that pays better than IPIU's law office of Attorney services... If you go to the yahoo groups search for the PI forums you can get all the assignments you want! from lots of sources... I contacted the State of Montana several weeks ago and filed my complaint and got a response yesterday... So to Chris or whoever you are.. I have a letter in my hand that assures me that many complaints against IPIU are being investigated. I urge all of you that got ripped off by IPIU to contact the Attorney Generals office in your State and the State of Montana. INVESTIGATE BEFORE YOU JOIN THIS UNION!!

I think that everyone has there own opion about about what the company could be and the owners.I am not the type to believe everything i read on th enet as you never know who is relaying the information. As was said earlier, "do your own investigating". I have been a member of IPIU for a few months.I have not had any bad experiences so far.A few disappointments though.I was disappointed at the fact that much of the info I read in the manual I already knew from my security guard training and the training I had and the info I read from books in the library.I too found them on monster. I was also disappointed about the mystery shopping assignments that I could have had on my own and the piracy investigations.I must say however alot of the info they have on the site is valuable interms of the state laws and the other comments from other members. After learning what I see here I would have to do my own research and see what is going on and hopefully get a refund.everyone cant be lying and but with the net today you never know who is who.I cant help but comment on how repeatative chris's rebuttal was compared to the first email he sent.No hard feelings.

I agree. Any business these days, including my own agency, would be better off dumping someone and refunding their money than insisting keeping them in a bad relationship. Although I have never had any clients ask for a refund, I am pretty strict on who I accept as a client. So using the IPIU refund procedure is the way to go rather than trying to use the attorney general's office to get some minor misunderstanding resolved. Just call them! But I have to disagree about what is actually available from IPIU. They have much more to offer me than just mystery shopping jobs and piracy jobs. I have level 4 access and have found pi jobs posted every week, have done assignments, made money, and I don't even need the free training ipiu offers because I own my own PI agency! But the extra cash is nice when I am in between assignments. Starting off as a private investigator was no cake walk for me. It was not easy. But my dedication, interest, and my support was what kept me going. And I learned how to separate facts from opinions. If you cannot check the facts for yourself at the IPIU home page, then choose a different career.

JC, It won't do much good going to the attorney general's office with this. It has already been done and we have gotten nowhere. The attorney general hands it to the local police and the officer in charge did something very unprofessional, it botched the whole thing. Just thought I would let you know. There is a way to get your money back if you ever get ahold of them, you have to return everything they ever sent you, all correspondence and materials - badge and credentials also. Good luck

I am a current member of IPIU and I have to aggeee with all of the statments made about IPIU. I would recommend that you investigate before you even look at this place! They are a total rip-off and I can tell you from personal experience that I was told that I would get lots of assignments and free training after joining and I still have not been offered anything but mystery shopping and Piracy assignments, They told me that they could get me employment with Agencies in my area and that never has happened. I never have received all the benefits they promised me and I never get my email questions to them answered when I email. I paid for a membership and got ripped off on what I am suppose to be getting. My advice to everyone that has been burned from IPIU is to flie a complaint with the Montana Attorney Generals Office, I am writting my letter today. JC
