Isaac's movers damaged many of my antiques during my move. They were unprepared for the move and arrived with an inadequate amount of packaging supplies. They actually ran out of blankets and put my mother's antique dining room table on the truck without any padding or blankets. The movers actually discouraged me from noting the damage on the delivery receipt (which would have invalidated my claim) and then refused to provide me a copy of the delivery inventory. I went through their claims process and was frustrated that "full reimbursement" meant they could randomly decide what my goods were worth and how much repairs would cost. Despite the full-replacement-value insurance I purchased, they paid $400 of $1044. For example, they claimed the professional appraisal I had for repairs to my antique rolltop desk was "out of line" and estimated the repair at less than half the actual cost of repair. To challenge their estimate, I would have had to pay for two additional appraisals which they would not reimburse. This is in addition to the appraisal, FedEx, and photo costs that I had to pay that they refused to repay. Their insurance claim process is designed to avoid full payment despite being labeled as full-replacement-value. They make the process difficult and the consumer must bear the cost of demonstrating the damage done by the movers, costs that are not reimbursed and are at their discretion. It is important to note that I reluctantly accepted their settlement because it would have cost me more to challenge the process and establish the damage with 3 appraisals as they required, costs that they wouldn't reimburse. Though I signed off on the settlement, I believe that their description of the insurance coverage is deceptive and inaccurate. They have no intention of paying full-replacement-value and their system is designed to ensure that they do not have to. (I have taken this complaint to the BBB and the FTC and wish to warn as many consumers as possible of the deceptive claims process Isaac's practices.)
