THERE IS A WAY OUT AND IT IS CALLED STUDENT LOAN LAW! FIGHT TRADE SCHOOL ABUSE! I THINK THIS WILL BE OF HELP TO THOSE APPRENTICE TRUCKDRIVERS WHO GOT SCREWED OVER BY TRUCK DRIVING COMPANY-SPONSORED SCHOOLS WHO KEPT THE ON ONLY LONG ENOUGH TO SCARF UP THAT FEDERAL LOAN MONEY AND THEN CAN THEM AND BRING IN A BOATLOAD OF NEW SUCKERS/MARKS/VICTIMS. IT MIGHT HELP YOU TOO AND I HOPE IT DOES. HAVING A KID IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND IT DEFINITELY CHANGES YOUR LIFE AND FINANCES AND THEY ONLY GET MORE EXPENSIVE AS THEY GET OLDER WHICH IS WHY YOU NEED TO RESOLVE WHAT I WOULD CONSIDER TO BE A RIP-OFF. I WAS BUYING USED LAW BOOKS WHEN I CAME ACROSS A VERY INTERESTING ONE CALLED 'STUDENT LOAN LAW: COLLECTIONS, INTERCEPTS,DEFERMENTS, DISCHARGES, REPAYMENT PLANS, AND TRADE SCHOOL ABUSES' IT IS PUBLISHED BY THE NATIONAL CONSUMER LAW CENTER. I CAN NOT GIVE YOU ADVICE FROM THIS BOOK BECAUSE IT IS THE 2002 EDITION AND I AM SURE THAT IT HAS BEEN SUPERSEDED BY A NEWER EDITION SINCE IT IS NOW SEVEN YEARS LATER --2009! I THINK THERE ARE LEGAL FORMS IN THE CD ROM IN THE BACK OF THE BOOK TO BE FILED IN COURT, AND I THINK THIS MIGHT HAVE TO BE FILED IN FEDERAL COURT-- NOT A PROBLEM FOR MOST ATTORNEYS. YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONTACT THE PEOPLE WHO PUBLISH THIS BOOK AND SEE IF YOU CAN GET A MORE RECENT COPY SINCE I DON'T KNOW MANY LAWYERS WHO MAKE A SPECIALTY OF THIS SORT OF LEGAL PRACTICE AND IF YOU KNOW THE RIGHT QUESTIONS TO ASK A LAWYER, HE OR SHE AN DETERMINE IF YOU HAVE A GOOD CASE AND BE BETTER EQUIPPED TO HELP YOU. YOU MIGHT WANT TO GET A COPY AND SHOW IT TO A LAWYER AND SEE IF HE OR SHE COULD HELP YOU GET OUT FROM UNDER THAT DEBT. I DON'T KNOW IF YOU HAVE TO BE A LAWYER OR A LAW STUDENT TO GET THIS BOOK BUT HERE IS WHO YOU WRITE TO FOR MORE DETAILS: PUBLICATION DEPARTMENT,NATIONAL CONSUMER LAW CENTER,77 SUMMER STREET, BOSTON MA 02110. THE SITUATION YOU ARE DESCRIBING SOUNDS LIKE A CLASSIC CASE OF TRADE SCHOOL ABUSE AS IT IS DEPICTED IN THIS BOOK BUT YOU ARE GOING TO NEED AN ATTORNEY TO STOP THIS. M Y ADVICE TO YOU IS TO CONTACT YOUR STATE BAR ASSOCIATION--THEY SHOULD HAVE A LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE AND SEE IF THEY RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO WORKS WITH STUDENT LOAN LAW. OR CHECK WITH AN ATTORNEY WHO KNOWS BANKRUPTCY LAW AND ASK HIM OR HER ABOUT STUDENT LOAN LAW. I UNDERSTAND THAT ITT HAS BEEN SUED BEFORE BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW SUCCESSFULLY! GOOD LUCK! YOU DESERVE A LOT MORE THAN STRUGGLING TO PAY BACK ONE OF THOSE ORGANIZED CRIME-STYLE LOANS WITH THE INTEREST THAT NEVER STOPS!

Bankruptcy might be a viable option for you for most of your debts, however, bankruptcy does NOT discharge federally funded student loans-they last forever if they are not paid back. You should consult with a bankruptcy attorney to review your viable options. Good luck.

Yeah, I read your posting. I would talk to a lawyer, call your accountant up, and call the financial people handling your issues with the money. Tell them to lower your rates and drop the APR and let them know your situation. If more people would stop going to the school and know the real deal it would help. Everyone is being duped into this. Its rediculous. Read the contracts first b4 telling this company that your not interested in their politics. look me up in Philadelphia under Wanderful Vending I would definitely want to talk to some people.

I am an ex-student who is not employed in my field of study. Pretty much the same story above only for CNS. I am sorry to say this but after the Bankruptcy law amendment in 1995 a student can not bankrupt unless he or she has been in perfect (Meaning no late charges) repayment for the last five years and has a great deal of proof stating the he or she can no longer meet with the loans repayment plan and has tried to extend said plan unsuccessful. All you will get with a bankruptcy is ten years of bad credit and you will still have to pay the loans. Also, non-violent protest was rewarded with a police pat down and the owner of the property hounding and stalking me daily for the last three months. I will be filing my report with a full transcript of my refund request and denial. If any one does take this cause, I'm in.

Look into it. It's the best solution I can offer. Also did you get any interviews? Either the area you are looking for work has no openings or too few or something about you is preventing you from being hired. If you are getting interviews but no jobs get someone to coach you on interview skills. As a manager it amazes me how many people can't handle a fast food interview let alone one for a "real" job. If you need the skills there are people who can help. If you know anyone who is a manager they can help. I help people all the time with fake interviews and tips.
