James Horan and I met through e-bay when I won a Louis Vuitton purse he was supposedly selling, I knew right away with a 16 feed back I shouldn't bid on it but I figured I'd give him the benefit of the doubt since everyone starts out new...after all, it had a money back guarantee once I received the purse...well, so much for receiving it!

I paid right away after the auction was over, I was so excited to have won a Louis Vuitton purse for a mere 230 dollars that had a satisfaction guarantee!

James sent me a tracking number and told me it'd arrive on Friday, when I tracked the package; it went to a NEW YORK address! He told me his sister was his shipper and she had accidentally shipped it to the wrong address and another would be sent immediately, I called him on this since he told me HE shipped the package...no response.

2 weeks passed, no purse and no answer...I e-mailed him again demanding to know where my purse was and threatening to contact e-bay and paypal...he writes back telling me it hasn't been mailed because they're out of stock even though he SOLD me the thing...called him down on it, no response.

2 more weeks pass, I e-mail him demanding a refund; it's been a month and no purse, nothing but excuses only when asked. He tells me he won't give a refund until the purse is received and then I can send it back...umm ok?

2 more weeks pass, I e-mail him letting him know he will be sued. He tells me there's nothing I can do about it because he's a lawyer in NY and has been for 20 years (But he lives in FL?) and gives me the name of the company...I look them up on the internet and call them, they've NEVER heard of this man in their lives!

So, I e-mail him letting him know I've contacted a lawyer and will pursing a law suit if not refunded and also leave negative feedback on e-bay, once I leave the feedback the e-mails start pouring in from people who've been scammed by him and have received neither a refund nor goods, one e-mail even comes from the lady who's Louis Vuitton pictures he's using on e-bay and ioffer as his own!

Once James responds to my e-mail it is with anger and threats. He tells me I don't know who I am messing with, he knows where I live and I'm "in big trouble b***h". He threatened my life indirectly telling me he was going to come show me who not to mess with.

I contacted the local police there and this guy has a record and apparently so do others in his family for not only theft but also aggrevated assault.

Because he is in FL, I can not sue him in GA and because he wouldn't agree to go on Judge Joe Brown when I contacted them (what thief WOULD agree?), we could not go. So, in order to sue him I'd have to go all the way to Springhill, FL which he knows.

This guy is a major scam artist, watch out for him at all costs. He rips you off and then threatens your life when you do not just walk away easily.

Paypal was only able to recover 20 dollars for me from his account after he was unable to verify that he actually sent the purse and e-bay terminated his account but then again, I am sure he will come back as someone else...they always do!

Watch out for this man, he's a liar and a thief...he left me negative feedback saying I provided the wrong zip code and wouldn't give it to him...I am paypal and e-bay verified so do the math for yourselves!

If you buy from this man, you'll be scammed without a doubt. Don't take the chance, I am still out 220 dollars that paypal probably will never get back for me...

Thanks.

I went on the Florida Bar website and did a search, and there is no James Horan listed as active or inactive, in the Florida Bar Association. Sounds like you got scammed by a nutjob. You do know that you can actually file suit against him without going down to file in person? You can in most cases, get the papers online or have them mailed to you. You would likely have to appear for court, and for $220, not sure it would be worth the trouble. I doubt if he would show, as he has no defense. You would get a default judgement, but collecting it would cost you more than the judgement itself.
