I did not even work for them for 1 week and already am so disgusted by their practices. They sent me on a mystery shopping assignment to Ross and I was to be paid $14 plus a $5 bonus. I did the assignment perfectly and when I tried to submit the report online, their website didn't work. I kept getting ERROR 404 messages on my screen. I tried several times on other browsers, another laptop, and even on my phone. No luck. I told the scheduler Lindsay what happened and emailed her my report along with screenshots of their malfunctioning website. Either she didn't believe me or wanted to rip me off so she wasn't going to pay my full assignment fee or bonus. This is a direct breach of contract and the company Jancyn is punishing me for their malfunctioning website. Then another scheduler called Elisa assigned me to another Ross shop to be completed on Monday or Tuesday. It was Sunday. She asked me if I was available and I said Yes I can do it on Tuesday. Then she said ok. But an hour later she said she gave the shop to someone else who could do it Monday. This is another breach of contract from Jancyn and they hired someone else to do the work after I had already accepted the job. STAY AWAY FROM JANCYN.

I have worked with this company for going on 7 years. Not once have i not been paid for an assignment. If assignment is done correctly there is no reason for no payment. In your email there is a reason for no payment. Post that to see .

I used to schedule for Jancyn from 2000 - 2006 until they hired the new GM who harrassed me to the point of drool. She is a complete micromanaging, harassing, relentless, well you get the picture. Otherwise, as a scheduler/editor, I cared about my shoppers and am still in touch with some of them today because they have become friends! When the scheduler completes his/her account within the timeframe, or the shoppers don't FLAKE out on the schedulers, then the project as a whole is submitted and the client pays, hence shoppers get paid. If reports are not done properly, then no, you won't get paid. I made that mistake once and only once prior to my scheduling for them and I knew I goofed, told the scheduler and redid the shop at my expense. You can bet I'm careful with my reports for all companies after that! However, Jancyn doesn't just 'not pay' just to not pay, there is a reason. At least that is the majority of the time. You would be wise to ask why instead of thinking you did everything right. There are guidelines and stipulations you cannot vary from with all companies. On the other hand, because I was helping on another account which was completed by me, and quit because of the aforementioned micromanaging monster, I was not paid about $800 and am extremely disappointed in 'J' for that, I thought highly of her until then. I had proof I completed it so I chalk that up to I'll never see it and I know other schedulers have felt the wrath, I've spoken to some and to some company owners that have have verified this. I was one of 2 or 3 who were there for many years while others come and go. When the good GM was there, before he left on a sour note, they knew they could count on me and I worked my butt off for them. But as a scheduler, if there was a shopper pay discrepency, it was researched and resolved properly, I know that for a fact because I speak first hand as a former shopper.

Hey, hold on here. I love this website and refer to it often. I was shocked to see this negative report in regards to Jancyn. I have worked for Jancyn as a mystery shopper for approximately 6 months and have done quite a few shops for them. I am a single mom of a 3 year old, so trust me when I say, I don't have a minute to spare. However, I've always managed to turn in my reports and have ALWAYS been paid in a timely manner. Jancyn is NOT out to rip you off. The schedulers who check in the reports have hundreds to edit throughout their day. In fact, when making a couple of minor errors in the beginning of my stint with Jancyn, my scheduler was very kind and pointed them out, and I fixed them. I know she didn't really have the time to "hold my hand", but she did. There are specific criteria to adhere to when writing up your reports. Simply follow the instructions and payment will be forthcoming. It's imperative that we first, read the instructions, and second, follow them. The report is worthless to the client if the instructions are not followed. The company cannot use the report if instructions are not followed, as they are looking for specific things. Also as a shopper, make sure you fill all the requirements of a particular shop, such as, having an ID in the case that alcohol is to be purchased. Again, I work as a shopper for Jancyn and find the experience to be very good! I just want to contribute a fair and just perspective with regards to Jancyn. Give it another shot! Thank you!

Your lesson only cost you 28.00. You stated you knew other people that have done the mystery shopping and were not paid, well add yourself to the list. If you get duped into doing this again you will not get paid. I am not sure what Jancyn gets out of this except an unprofessional restaurant review. You got dinner.

I was contacted by this company and asked to "steal" lumber from a local lumber yard, and instruct my under-age child to purchase cigarettes. Horrified, I put a block on Jancyn making further contact with me.My advice would be to file in Small Claims Court, provide proof you did the shop and let the Court decide. In my opinion, any company associated with Shadow Shopper can only be a rip off! Shadow Shopper and their subsidiaries are under investigation by the Texas State Attorney General, and I suspect Jancyn will be at some point too, if they aren;t now. I am sorry this happened to you.
