Jayco Inc Jayco Travel Trailers lack quality and practice poor customer service Middlebury, Indiana
Purchased a 2009 Jayco Jay Feather 28R new from dealer last July. Immediately the motor on the slide failed, the bathroom sink faucet broke and three trim pieces fell off - all before we made it home with it!
After using the first time, we noticed an extreme amount of water collecting along the walls - especially in the bedroom. After calling in, I was told it was just condensation and to deal with it. So okay - second trip out our clothes in the bedroom was damp. Third trip out it rained, and guess what? I woke up to a steady stream of water running in my face!
When I called in to the dealer, I was told we are suppose to seal the roof..... seriously?? By this time, we had only owned the camper a few months! Upon inspection, there was a 4-6 inch gap on the roof - caused by a manufacturing problem, not by poor ownership!
After leaving our camper at the dealer for 6 weeks to be fixed, we show up to get it and now there are more repairs needed. Another trip back to the dealer and another six weeks later more damage and issues and yet another round of repairs. When does it stop?
We have now had this camper for a year and it is junk! Molded cabinets, mildewed carpeting, raised countertops, and many, many, more problems!
While Jayco used to be a top of the line company, they are not anymore! Jayco is a terrible company to deal with and produces an extremely poor product that even they can't stand behind!
