Raleigh,#2Consumer Suggestion

You can stop payment on the check but that would probably cost $35. JBC will laugh at you if you ask for your money back. Instead, here's what you can do to get back more than you sent them. They told you they were a law firm and that you owed money. If in fact you did not owe it, that is wrong, and also a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and also a crime. Report them to your local police, file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and the Minnesota Attorney General and whoever regulates collection agencies in MN. And find a consumer lawyer in your neck of the woods, who will take your case contingent and win you triple your money back plus hundreds if not a thousand or so in damages. DON'T let them get away with it. I'm a consumer lawyer in Raleigh NC and I'm starting a class action lawsuit against them. Look at the other posts on this page and see if they have any suggestions. Repeat, DON'T let them get away with it.
