Locating an old-timer who has an established reputation is a good start. My wife took my Brietling Copilot to a local jewelry shop when we lived in Cincinnati, She was having it fixed as a birthday present. They screwed it up. I transferred to a different division of the company in upstate NY where we found an old-time jewler. We took the Brietling there & the elderly gentleman opened it and concluded the watch needed a complete oerhaul. He knew a retired Brietling watchmaker in Switzland and.... Long story short, the watch now works like new. I was told that the parts that neededto be replaced were no longer available so the retired Brietling watchmaker in Switzland made them. Final cost was $200.
