Jeff Feulner Ripped Off by Jeff Feulner "Men's Divorce Law Firm" Orlando, Florida
I hired Jeff Feulner for a my divorce and boy was that a mistake. ( First a little about myself I was married for 25yrs, both kids all grown up over 21, no assets to claim, very little in 401k, have a pension and a house the only property we had was sold on a short sale and forgiven for the rest of the amount owed to the bank through a program called HAFA. 2 vehicles nothing fancy and thats about it.) Jeff Feulner asked for a $2500 retainer up front and told me that my divorce would not cost more than $5000 max.
I know and understand that lawyers always quote low and was willing to understand that, but what I'm about to tell you will shock you. I gave Jeff Feulners Firm the retainer of $2500 and like all the other stories it quickly was gone with in two weeks. My divorce case was given to his associate Jean Moses and I knew something wasn't write when they told me that we were going to mediation and they needed another $2600 for mediation...so I set up monthly payments with them which I didn't mind.
So here I am being set up to go to mediation and I haven't even met the lawyer who's handling my case ! as a matter of fact I didn't meet Jean Moses the attorney assigned to me until 40 minutes before we went into mediation. We never even discussed my case until that morning and so I asked a few questions like "what if nothing gets settled during mediation and if we go to court what happens then ?" Well Jean Moses says to me that it will probably cost about 5k to 15k for my divorce if it goes to court and 5k of that up front to enter court and be able to continue.
I'm thinking WOW! thats a lot of money so Jean Moses suggest we try and settle this in mediation. We go into mediation that morning and we looked like complete fools cause my lawyer was not ready with materials that they needed for mediation. If we had met before and had time to discuss things a couple of days before maybe we would have settled something...so guess what ? there went $2600 down the drain cause my lawyer was not ready. Ok weeks went by and no information coming from my lawyers other than you owe this much.
I setup a phone call with the lawyer and she wasn't on time with the set time we made to talk about some issues and yes she was an hour late telling me later she got caught up with another case....hmmmm seems like their time is more important than mine and by the way I had to cancel a meeting at my job in order to take the phone call we had setup which didn't happen like I said until an hour later. Ok so we get on about my case and I'm letting her know my issues and once again she wasn't prepared to answer my questions only to tell me that...READY FOR THIS ?
my case will now probably cost somewhere between 30k to 50k and that the retainer to enter the court is now 10k, now remember contested or not this is just a divorce with no kids or assets or money or businesses of any kind just wanted a divorce as a matter of fact my ex had taken everything from the house and garaged saled it or sold it. I wasn't contesting nothing my ex was it was just about alimony that's all it was about. Ok so not to get away from the subject I immediately emailed Jeff Feulner about what Jean Moses had said about the amount it would cost me to go to court and he responded that he tells his lawyers to always quote high.
HIGH ! quoting high and outragously high! are two different things here. How do we go from 5k to 15k to now 30k to 50k is beyond me ! but I had to ask and once again I met with Jean Moses which she kindly tells me she is no longer representing me and that Jeff Feulner is now taking my case so if I had anymore questions to set up a meeting with him. Ok by now I had spent close to 6K on this "MEN'S DIVORCE LAW FIRM" and nothing had been done other than dragged out paper work.
OH ! and did I tell you I never even saw Jeff Feulner other than that first day of consultation to kindly receive my $2500. I felt I needed to consult with other lawyers and I did and when I told them my story they were in shock. I finally found a good lawyer that was willing to take my divorce case at a fraction of the cost of what Jeff Feulner was quoting me and yes I know most of the paper work has already been done but even other lawyers said the my divorce contested or not should have cost no more than 6k at the high end. I've been through h*ll with this "Men's Divorce Law Firm" Jeff Feulner and his phoney firm.
Here is suppose to be a law firm that suppose to stand up for Men in divorces and instead cripples them even more with they're scam. They suck you in by quoting a price and then prolong the process to suck you in even more. I encourage anyone to feel free to contact me if you feel you've been scammed by Jeff Feulner and his firm. I think if there's enough people out there to bring this to a next level and maybe a class action suite I'm willing to go the distance and stand up against Ripoff attorneys like Jeff Feulner and his associates.
