Jerome Robinson
United States of America#2REBUTTAL Owner of company
Wed, June 09, 2010
Hello, my name is Jerome Robinson.
Since 2008, I have had 2 people that have left the company by
unfavorable means. One of them, I had to call the police on
because he stole a lot of equipment and was forging customer
signatures. Needless to say, the police helped me get much of
our equipment back and also helped me get rid of this tech forever
(or so I thought).
There was $75 that was unpaid to this
technician AJ, because he did not complete 3 installations. I
did pay him for most of the job, but I retained $25 from each of the
jobs that he did not complete in order to pay another technician to
complete the job. I have complete records for all of these
transactions. Needless to say, I do not use this technician
anymore because of our high standards in quality and customer
service.
Look, I'm in favor of FREE Speech, but please keep in
mind that in my line of work, we use to sometimes contract
technicians that slip below the radar; that do not do good quality
work. Yes, we use to do background checks, motor vehicle
checks, criminal history checks and employee background checks but
sometimes a few bad apples would slip in.
Let this complaint
be a shining example that I am tough and I will not tolerate any
technician who steals or does not ground a satellite system or leaves
a customer without TV and says that they will be back and never show
up. They can go work for the cable company (incidentally
because he was terminated from several satellite companies, the cable
company was the only company that would take him). I care about
my customers and look forward to continue to make sure that they get
the absolute best customer service, period. This same
technician has posted several complaints, posing as different
technicians. They are all the same character.
So let's
go through all of the complaints:
I am not a thief. I
use to be the highest paying local installation contractor in Central
Florida. AboutSatellite.com does not hold any retainer from a
technician. We use to hold a retainer when we were a big
company because many technicians would steal equipment (and this was
and still is the industry standard). We now do not hold a
retainer, we are just a lot more selective of who we contract with.
I am very honest with customers. I am not a sales person
although I do have honest sales people that work for me. The
technician AJ would have no way of knowing the integrity of a sales
person because the two have never meet. The technician never
meets the sales person. Obviously, this is a lie. AJ does
know other people who have met a similar fate (were terminated).
We were a very big company. There were a few other technicians
who did steal and they got caught. So when AJ refers to that
fact that he knows other technicians that have the same story, it's
probably true. Dow Electronics is an electronics distributor
that I do business with. They have nothing but positive and
wonderful things to say about me and our company. In fact, I am
currently ranked as one of the highest Dish Network companies (which
is ranked by color code). I have the highest color code.
If you contact me, (you can get my information on my website)
http://www.AboutSatellite.com, and I will provide you with their
telephone number as well as Dish Network's corporate number.
Incidentally, I am also ranked as one the top DirecTV dealers too, I
am one of the few Excel Dealers in the area. If I lost my
contract with Dish for Stealing customers, I would not still be in
business with them and ranked as one of their top companies according
to their color code. I do own a storage unit where I store
equipment in different areas for technicians to pick up from. I
also have an office too (I don't know why AJ left that out).
It's a lot cheaper than having 6 stores or big warehouses that
increase overhead. I've seen over 20 satellite companies close
and go bankrupt because they couldn't afford the overhead. I do
like to call people brother and I do say, "God Bless you".
I do not mean to offend anyone.
Anybody can say anything that
they want and THE RIPPOFF REPORT allows for slander. I've
ignored these false accusations for a couple of years now but one of
my customers told me that I should not stand for it and I should
stand up for myself. I've always had a passive attitude of,
"it's one person, don't provoke them, who knows what they are
capable of". When you deal with the rough type that you
and I both know as INSTALLERS, you tend to get use to it. I've
had a tech extort me for $2,500, saying that if I didn't pay him, he
was going to make up things and spread them around and stalk my son's
school. When AJ presented me with the same threat, this was the
first time that I didn't back down. I just got the police and
my attorney involved. Look were it got me; 2-years later I find
myself defending myself on this website. I guess when all else
fails, there is always RIPPOFF REPORT. AJ did warn me that he
was going to post this.
If you're reading this, why? Did
you know that most of the companies that are posted hear don't even
know that they are and as a result have no way of defending
themselves? There are usually 3-sides to every story. The
accuser, the defender, and the truth!
AJ gave me heads up,
it's not like he didn't warn me. But when is enough, enough.
He can say absolutely anything he wants. But I'll let you be
the judge. Meet the real Jerome Robinson, it's a pleasure to
meet you.
