several days ago I saw a vehicle (1993 Camry) advertised on Craig's list for the sum of $1150.00 and when I clicked on the link to this car to get additional information, I was connected to the seller, Jessica Lewiss. She story was that she was located in Athens, Greece due to being asigned there to stablize relations between the U.S. and Greece. Her husband had just arrived to her location from the U.S with the Camry and now they wanted to sell it back in the U. S. She was going to use eBay Motor Financial Department to handle the transaction because it was a secure way of doing business. She said she would have eBay contact me with instructions on how everything would work. She also said she would ship the car to me by means of Military Cargo Air ( I assumed because she was with the U.S. Military) and there would be no additional cost to me or her. I received an e-mail from eBay Motor Financila Department and was told that I needed to go to a MoneyGram location and pay them cash and have them send it to an agent in Athens. This agent named was Mendes Dutt at Piraeus st. 18, Athens, Greece 10552 dob 04 June 1971. The instructions said this agent would hold the funds until the car was received by me and I had 15 days to inspect it and determine if I wanted to keep it. At that time I woul dnotify eBay Mortor Financial Department of my decision. If I kept the car, the money woul dbe released to Jessica Lewiss. If I didn't want th ecar, the money would be returned to me within three days. The next day I receive anothe e-mail from eBay support@safe-online-pay/com saying inorder to complete the final shipping process I had to send an additional $900 to the agent. This is where I started to get suspisous. I replied back saying that this was not discussed or part of th eoriginal instructions and they could keep the vehical and send my money back to me. I have not heard back from them. I realy feel like I've been "dupped" and taken advantage of. Craig's List and eBay need to be a little more observent when they allow individuals to use their websit to advertise automobiles. Please let me know if I have any chance of recovery of the money that I've lost or if and what actions I can take to stop these people form doing this to another honest person.
