Jill Bussey DDS ripoff Richmond Virginia
Jill Bussey DDS has a hidden opportunity to RIP YOU OFF in the patient agreement! BEWARE. DOn't let the same thing happen to you.
Dr. Jill Bussey's office in downtown Richmond, Virginia has a statement in the release which enables her office to sue you for work not done. It happened to me, it can happen to you.
In January of 2002, I was seen in Dr. Bussey's office because of a cracked tooth and exposed nerve. I did not have dental insurance. She xrayed and medicated the area and told me that I would have to return after the infection subsided. I made a $250.00 payment that day. I was informed that that would cover all services rendered during the visit. As a self pay patient, I was informed that I would have to pay as I went along, paying between 250-500 during each visit.
At the time, I was a fulltime student and funds were low. I informed her office that I would not be able to return until I had additional funds. A few months later I called her office in excruciating pain requesting to be seen. They refused to see me without a minimum of $200.00 I went to the local dental school where they performed a complete root canal.
I later received a call from Dr. Bussey's office. They wanted to know when I would return to complete the procedure. I said that I would not be returning to her office. I then received a bill in the mail for THE FULL ROOT CANAL! I phoned her office repeatedly to explain that I did not owe the money because the work had not been done. They sued me for $400.00. When I submitted documents to the court showing that the procedure in question was done at the dental school, they amended the suit to 120.00. On the court date I brought documents from the dental school showing that the work was done elsewhere. The court ruled that I'd signed a document stating that I would be responsible for the root canal and was therefore legally responsible even though the dentist NEVER PREFORMED THE WORK! I have been in contact with the state regulatory board, and it appears that I have a good case. Even if the regulatory board rules in my favor, it will not change the fact that I have a judgement on my credit report for work not done. PLEASE DON"T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!
