Just Brakes Tim "So much for the free brake estimate" Phoenix, Arizona
Took my vehicle to the Just Brakes on Bell Road in Phoenix to get a "free brake estimate"
I was waited on by "Tim", a rather rude and abrupt young man, who demanded that I sign off on a $169.99 estimate before the vehicle ever entered the shop. He stated that I needed to commit to the price, since the tech that would be diagnosing the problem had to take the front and rear brakes apart, and that they may not go back together after doing so.
Is this legal? Is this type of "sandbagging" and blatent false advertising a ploy conjured up by "Tim", or is this company policy?
I understand that every good company has some bad people. But after listening to "Tim" talk to some other customers (on the phone, and at the counter) while I waited for my car to pulled out the bay, I got the feeling that this type of customer abuse and manipulation is condoned by Just Brakes. After all, how could any company NOT KNOW that such a con-artist was working for them, and not fire them!
Do not take your vehicle to this store! Do not fall for the "well, the check is free, but you really should fix the problem the correct way, and that way is to replace the front & rear friction material, since it will maintain a "balanced braking system" Free means Free! Don't fall this scam!
