Kay Jewelers Poor Quality Dishonest repairs lack of costomer service Richmond Square Mall Richmond Nationwide
I purchased a solitaire engagement ring and wedding ring for my wife. Everything was good until we noticed the prongs kept bending causing the diamond to be loose on the solitaire ring. My wife is a librarian so it is not like her profession is hard on rings. We brought it in for repair only to have this happen 2 more times. We had to leave the ring with them for a few days each time so we had 6 trips total, 3 drop off trips and 3 pick up trips(45 min. drive each way).
Once they finally broke down and replaced the setting with a more stout setting and everything was good with the solitaire ring. But the story does not end here, a diamond came loose in the wedding band. Now we are on our seventh trip to the local Kay Jewelers to have it fixed. On our eighth trip to pick up the ring we notice the setting was repaired with yellow gold. Yes that is correct they used yellow gold to repair a platinum setting. So we sent it back and we received it and everything looked good again.
A few months later the setting looked gold again. Apparently they brushed some platinum or white gold over the yellow gold to cover it up rather than repair the mistake. My wife called the customer service hotline and the Customer service rep. made her feel as if it were her fault. FYI these events occurred over a year and a half. I think I will pursue legal action. Every Krime begins with Kay! DO not buy jewelry from Kay jewelers or any chain mall jewelers.
